Abstract: PURPOSE: A variable delay chain is provided to optionally set up a delay time needed by a user without regard to a delay characteristic of an individual element according to a production technique of element. CONSTITUTION: A variable delay chain sets up a number of delay elements with four kinds of wide control inputs(2)-(5) and four kinds of fine control inputs(6)-(9). When an input of delay objective signal(1) is fed, the input delayed from 1times to 100times of one delay element by passing a wide delay chain(101). A wide selector(102) outputs a signal of first delay output(DO1) by selecting one of them. The signal is delayed from 1times to 100times of one delay element by passing a fine delay chain(201) and outputs a final delay signal with a second delay output(DO2).
