Abstract: A digital photographing device and a method for storing direction information are provided to remarkably increase cognitive power on peripheral buildings or background scenes when being applied to a navigation system. Image photographing and processing units(102,103) take a random image, and process the image into digital image data. With a user interface(104), a user transmits an operational command. A location information obtaining unit includes a location measurement sensor. The location information obtaining unit obtains location information in case of an image taking process. A direction information obtaining unit includes a direction measurement sensor. A data storage(105) stores the location information and direction information together with the digital image data. A display(110) displays the location information and the direction information of the digital image data together with the data.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting information of position and a method thereof are provided to improve positioning accuracy in order to be used in position-based service or space information service of high quality through the same. CONSTITUTION: A position correcting apparatus (100) includes a reference object search part (150), a reference point extracting part (160) and a position determining part (170). The reference object search part searches an object corresponding to a photographed image from a previously stored geographic object database, and sets a reference object which is to be used in position correction among the searched objects.
