PURPOSE: A device for controlling vergence of a stereo camera is provided to interwork vergence control according to zoom lens operations of the stereo camera, and to perform a more exact vergence control by parallax found through a signal processing, thereby enabling a more exact vergence control in the stereo camera. CONSTITUTION: A focus controller(140) operates lens operators(121) to equalize images photographed by at least two cameras, and performs a focus control. A zoom and vergence controller(130) finds a distance between central points of the two cameras where parallax becomes zero according to positions of lenses(111) and a subject, when the focus control is performed. A camera driver(120) controls a distance between centers of the two cameras according to the distance between the central points of the two cameras, and performs a vergence control. A signal processor transmits a control signal vergence information to the camera driver according to a vergence angle, which is obtained by calculating the parallax by using video data obtained when the vergence control is performed, and carries out a 2-step vergence control.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for evaluating a DC offset in a digital quadrature demodulator are provided to improve capacity of a demodulator by removing a direct current component. CONSTITUTION: A hard limiter(91) is used for limiting an amplitude of an output signal of an A/D converter(40). A filter(+Mean)(92) is used for receiving only positive signals of A/D output signals and calculating a mean value for absolute values of the positive signals. A filter(-Mean)(93) is used for receiving only negative signals of the A/D output signals and calculating a mean value for absolute values of the negative signals. An adder adds an output of the filter(+Mean)(92) to an output of the filter(-Mean)(93). CONSTITUTION: A decimation filter(210) decimation-filters left/right images pictured from video cameras(200, 201). A multiplexer(220) multiplexes the decimation-filtered images. A recorder/transmitter(230) records or transmits the multiplexed image signals. An image separator(240) reproduces, receives, and decodes data recorded or transmitted from the recorder/transmitter, and separates the left image from the right image. An interpolation filter(250) interpolation-filters the separated images to restore to original size. An image display(260) displays the restored images.

PURPOSE: A vergence control system and method according to over sampling and variable addressing and a parallel-axis stereo camera are provided to process input video signals in real time with a simple hardware construction and reduce information loss. CONSTITUTION: A vergence control system(310) includes an analog/digital converter(311), a memory(312), a variable address generator(313), a vertical processor(314) and a vertical interpolator(315). The analog/digital converter performs horizontal over sampling of an image photographed by an external camera. The memory stores the over-sampled image. The variable address generator outputs a vergence-controlled image from the images stored in the memory. The vertical processor receives the vergence-controlled image from the memory to process the image in the vertical direction. The vertical interpolator accepts the vertically processed image and interpolates the image to the size of the photographed image.

본 발명은 디지털 직교 복조기에서 A/D변환 및 직교 하향 변환의 불완전성에 의해 발생하는 DC성분을 제거하기 위한 DC 오프셋 평가기와 DC 오프셋 평가방법에 관한 것이다. 디지털 직교 복조기는 반송파 복원 회로를 이용하여 수신 신호를 I채널과 Q채널 신호로 구성되는 직교 기저 대역 신호로 변환한 후, A/D변환 과정을 수행한다. 이 때 A/D변환된 직교 기저 대역 신호는 A/D 변환 및 직교 하향 변환의 불완전성과 다중 경로 채널 환경에서 반송파 복원 회로의 오프셋 위상 오차때문에 DC 오프셋이 발생하며 이 DC 오프셋성분은 복조기의 성능을 저하시킨다. 이 문제는 먼저 DC 오프셋성분을 구하고, 이 값을 이용하여 A/D 변환기의 오프셋 Adjust 입력을 조절함으로써 해결할 수 있게 한다.
