The present invention is to provide a method for efficient data transmission, storage and management by compressing a data packet transmitted and received in a process of data transmission in an AMI network having a small-sized memory and a low data rate. The number of transmitted packets is able to be reduced using one among a bit map interval algorithm capable of reducing the number of packets through a way for setting a period to each bitmap, an iterative bitmap interval algorithm for compressing data by toggling between 0 and 1 and expressing as a bitmap value when a change in a continuous data value exists, and a run length encoding algorithm for encoding and compressing a run length of the continuous same data. PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for tracking an asset based on a ubiquitous sensor network using motion sensing are provided to optimize battery lifetime of an asset node. CONSTITUTION: An asset tracking device(200) based on a USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) includes a motion sensing managing unit(201), a filtering unit(203), and a location information update managing unit(205). The motion sensing managing unit receives motion sensing information from a sensor. The filtering unit filters the motion sensing information based on a filtering parameter. The filtering unit determines to generate motion based on the filtered motion sensing information. The location information update managing unit updates location information according to whether to generate the motion.

An apparatus(300) for providing an interface environment according to user personalized information in a home automation system comprises a sensor information processing unit(301), a user authentication processing unit(302), a user personalized information processing unit(303), a surrounding environment information processing unit(304), and a program update processing unit(305). The sensor information processing unit processes user sensor information inputted by a user. The user authentication processing unit checks whether user sensor information processed by the sensor information processing unit is the authentication information of a pre-authenticated user. A method and an apparatus for providing a route using public transport to a passenger are provided to enhance user convenience by providing tour and accommodation information around a destination as well as an optimal route using public transport to a user. An apparatus for providing a route using public transport to a passenger unit includes a receiver(210), a unified database(220), a router(230), and a display unit(240). The receiver receives source and destination names. The unified database includes a tour information guiding unit, which stores and updates public transport information, public transport connection information, public transport cost information, and public transport time information. The tour information guiding unit manages tour information around the destination. The router obtains usable stop sites between the source and destination and calculates the shortest route from the source to the destination. The display unit displays the stop sites, which are arranged on the shortest route.

PURPOSE: A device and a method for generating a natural image of a digital television are provided to apply a matrix coefficient for generating a natural image to a chip set of color conversion, and then to correct an input image for colors of sky blue, flesh tone, etc., thereby factually approaching natural colors. CONSTITUTION: An input image converter(210) converts digital RGB(Red/Green/Blue) signals into a value of L*a*b. A natural color extractor(220) discriminates whether pixels of an input image have a natural color by using the converted L*a*b value. A matrix application unit(230) applies a matrix of a corresponding natural color to the input pixels discriminated to have the natural color in the natural color extractor(220). An output image generator(240) generates the image obtained through the matrix application unit(230) to have a new digital RGB value. The natural color extractor(220) calculates a hue value after converting the data inputted from the input image converter(210) into the L*a*b value in order to discriminate whether the calculated value belongs to a natural color.

PURPOSE: A constant luminance controller of an HDTV and a method for generating and outputting constant luminance are provided to find a constant luminance value close to the color of the original image to produce images with high picture quality. CONSTITUTION: A constant luminance controller of an HDTV includes a luminance controller(1), a luminance comparator(104), and a signal converter(106). The luminance controller generates and stores a look-up table in which a predetermined constant luminance value of an image with high picture quality and a reference luminance value of a general image are contrasted with each other. The luminance comparator compares the reference luminance value with the luminance value of an input image. The signal converter extracts a constant luminance value corresponding to the reference luminance value when the luminance values compared with each other are similar to each other and converts the image into RGB signals using the extracted constant luminance value.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for extending linear color gamut of a color device are provided to linearly extend color gamut when relatively narrow color gamut is converted into a relatively wide color gamut, to improve picture quality. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for extending linear color gamut of a color device includes an input color coordinate converter(210), a color gamut extension unit(220), a color gamut storage unit(230), and an output color coordinate converter(240). The input color coordinate converter receives red, green and blue color coordinates from a color device(100) with narrow color gamut to convert the color coordinates into color coordinates of luminance, chrominance and hue. The color gamut extension unit extends color attributes of luminance, chrominance and hue according to linear extension equation to convert the color attributes. The color gamut storage unit controls the color attribute information extended by the color gamut extension unit not to come out of a relatively wide color gamut device(300). The output color coordinate converter inverse-transforms the color attribute information into red, green and blue color coordinates to transmit the color coordinates to the wide color gamut device.
