Abstract: An integrated IP-based customized broadcasting service system and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to enjoy various services by expanding contents which the user can use when forming a channel to the VoD and UCC/PCC. An integrated IP-based customized broadcasting service system comprises a subscriber programming table providing server unit(120) and a broadcasting server unit(130). The subscriber programming table providing server unit generates a subscriber programming table corresponding to the time when a user desires to receive a broadcasting program or IP-based contents. The broadcasting server unit transmits the corresponding broadcasting program in case of providing the broadcasting program according to the subscriber programming table, and converts/provides the IP-based contents into contents which the user can view in case of providing the IP-based contents.

Abstract: A method for reducing a zapping time and an IP(Internet Protocol) set-top box therefor are provided to reduce a zapping time when a channel is continuously changed up or down. An interface unit(601) transmits an IGMP(Internet Group Management Protocol) message and receives a broadcasting stream according to channel change request. A stream separating unit(602) separates the broadcasting stream received through the interface unit according to channels. A decoder unit(603) decodes the respective broadcasting streams separated in the stream separating unit, and generates a broadcasting signal. A stream selecting unit(604) transmits a broadcasting signal of a channel whose reception is requested among the generated broadcasting signals to a display device. A control unit(605) controls the operation of the stream selecting unit to transmit one or more IGMP messages through the interface unit and transmit the broadcasting signal of the channel to the display device.

Abstract: A channel change method in an IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) and a system therefor are provided to reduce the loss of a bandwidth of a network and change a channel at high speed in IPTV environment by previously registering a plurality of viewing candidate channels in a router through the correction of an existing IGMP(Internet Group Management Protocol) message. Routers(106,107) receive a channel change request of a user in IPTV environment and previously register viewing candidate channels. An Internet broadcasting server(108) previously transmits broadcasting packets of the viewing candidate channels to the routers. When a channel whose change is requested by the user is included in the previously registered candidate channels, the routers transmit the corresponding broadcasting packet to a set-top box(101) of the user.

When the program receiving unit receives the broadcast programs from plural broadcast program providers, the program receiving unit performs access control by giving permission to the transmission of the broadcast programs by using broadcast program ID(Identification), the start and close time of the broadcast programs, the IP(Internet Protocol) address, TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) or UDP(User Datagram Protocol) port number of the broadcast program provider in the program time table generated by the program time table generating unit.
