    Abstract: PURPOSE: Structure for mounting a fender of a vehicle is provided to prevent a pedestrian from being injured by inducing deformation with sliding into a fender engine room in breaking the pin of a grommet at a collision. CONSTITUTION: A hole(45) is formed in the middle of a round grommet(50), and fixing pins(55) are formed in both lower parts of the grommet. A fixing groove(40) and an inverse T-shaped insertion hole(30) are formed in the upper part of a fender. The fixing pin is inserted to the fixing groove, and the grommet is inserted to the insertion hole. The fixing pin in the lower part of the grommet is broken in bumping a pedestrian into the fender, and the fender is moved into the engine room with sliding. The pedestrian is protected with inducing deformation by breaking the pin of the grommet.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Hood latch structure of a vehicle is provided to protect a pedestrian safely by absorbing impact efficiently with forming a deep guide groove of a latch base plate and with moving a striker of a hood into the guide groove at a collision with the pedestrian. CONSTITUTION: A hood latch system of a vehicle is composed of a pawl(20) turned by a striker(101) of a hood moving along a guide groove(12) of a latch base plate(10) fixed in a vehicle body; and a latch(30) supported by an elastic spring(44) to restrict reverse turn of the pawl by inserting a fitting piece of the pawl. The guide groove of the latch base plate is extended inward in closing the hood. An inner panel and an outer panel are deformed, and impact is transmitted to the pawl through the striker at a collision. The shock is transmitted to a safety bracket(18), and the safety bracket is separated from a hood base panel. Impact is absorbed efficiently with moving the striker into the guide groove at the collision.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Cowl panel structure of a close box type is provided to minimize damage of a pedestrian by absorbing impact while applying impact into a hood panel. CONSTITUTION: Cowl panel structure of a close box type for protecting a pedestrian comprises a space formed between a cowl top panel(12a) and a hood inner panel(10a); a bracket(20) attaching lower ends to an upper portion of the cowl top panel; and a windshield glass(G) combined to a cowl top cover by a bolt(14). The lower ends of the bracket are fixed on the upper portion of the cowl top panel with specific interval. A lower end portion of the windshield glass is combined to an upper end portion of the cowl top cover. The bracket is conveniently deformed to absorb impact. Thereby, the cowl panel structure of the close box type minimizes damage of a pedestrian by absorbing impact while applying impact into a hood panel.
