Abstract: The opening/closing variable device of automobile intake/exhaust valves in which the valves are opened/closed by the rotation of a cam shaft, comprises a variable gear(4) having an internal tooth wheel coupled with a helical gear(11) and an external tooth wheel coupled to the inside of a sprocket(10), while moved by the application of the pressure of a first hydraulic chamber(14); a flange(6) coupled via a connection rod(5) with the variable gear(4) and positioned on the hollow portion of the inside of the cam shaft(3); and a body coupled with the flange(6) to form a second hydraulic chamber(17) and having one side to which the pressure of fluid flowing through a high pressure path(21) is applied and the other side on which a piston(26) elastically supported by a spring(27) is retained. Under the above construction, a ball(22) is disposed on the one end of a horizontal path(18) on the body(7) and is opened/closed by the moment of the piston(260, such that the fluid is transmitted to the first and second hydraulic chambers(14,17) and the flange(6) and the variable gear(4) are moved in an axial direction.

Abstract: a cam(27) having taper-type three dim ensional profile and being movable along the cam shaft(1); a swing arm(4) for transmitting the force of the cam(27) to the valves; and a seat(18) between the cam(27) and the swing arm(4), etc. The rotating cam(27) presses down the seat(18). Then the seat(18) presses the first slant parts(10)(11) of the swing arm(4) and the valves(2)(3) open. When an electronic control unit operates and makes the cam shaft(1) move to the left, the seat(18) gets contacted with the smaller part of the cam(27). Then the timing of opening the valves(2)(3) gets slower and the valve lifting diminishes.
