    Abstract: The sealing element has a brush with parts projecting partially from a holder, which are imbedded into a bedding material (11). The imbedded brush fibers (3') are cut to a defined length (23) along a joint plane (12). The bedding material is removed, and the fibers are turned through an angle relative to the brush holder. The fibers are held in the holder by a wire and a clamp profile.

    Abstract: The device consists of a self-supporting stiffener belt (14), which is located in a ring around the ends (4) of the rotating blades (1). The belt has a U-shaped profile, open towards the flow-defining wall of the turbine housing (6). The belt has bores (23), containing radially movable fasteners (12) to connect the belt to the blade ends. The U-profile of the belt contains a metal strip (15) enclosed by a plastics strip (16). Stiffener belt, metal strip, and fasteners consist of titanium alloy, the plastics strip consists of a thermoplastic material with carbon fibre reinforcements.

    Abstract: A ring (4) of pref. Sm-Co magnetic material recessed in a housing (5) of austenitic steel in the wall of the turbine casing (1) is divided into three sections (7a-7c) with alternate polarity of magnetisation. The end (8) of each blade (2) is covered with a plate (3) of approximately rhombic form from the radial aspect, with acute-angled edges parallel to the direction of rotation. The plate is mfd. advantageously of Al whose good electrical conductivity favours the induction of eddy currents and damping of vibrations.

    Abstract: The guide blade has a cavity (18) under low pressure, e.g. connected directly to the condenser, inside it, and has an aperture (3) for fluid suction in the region of its rear edge. This aperture has a porous cover (7) with capillaries which are filled with the fluid being sucked during operation. The porous cover is anchored in the blade by a mechanical fixing element (20) in the form of a spring-loaded quick lock. It consists of a bush (21) which locates the cover in the blade aperture. The cylindrical part (24) projects into the blade cavity. A movable mandrel (25) in the bush is loaded by a spring (26) and has a cap (28) on the inner wall of the blade.
