Abstract: A system and method are described for delivering content to a mobile device using a companion device. The companion device acts as a proxy device to send and receive signals on behalf of other proxied devices. Once content is loaded onto the mobile device, a user can navigate through the content using a navigation path determined based on a user's item of focus. Various transitions and animations can be displayed along the navigation path. Moreover, a user can interact with the content when viewed in a specific layout using touch events or a rotation input device.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a biometric sensor is provided which displays a biometric settings interface including a plurality of entries that correspond to respective enrolled sets of biometric information and a biometric enrollment affordance. In response to detecting input using the biometric sensor, and in accordance with a determination that the detected input corresponds to a first set of biometric information, a first entry is highlighted. In response to detecting activation of the biometric enrollment affordance, after detecting the input using the biometric sensor, a process for enrolling biometric information with the biometric sensor is initiated.

Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface, a display, and one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts: displays a plurality of user interface objects in a first user interface on the display; detects an input by a contact on the touch-sensitive surface while a focus selector is over a first user interface object, in the plurality of user interface objects, on the display; in accordance with a determination that the input meets selection criteria, displays a second user interface that is distinct from the first user interface in response to detecting the input; in accordance with a determination that a first portion of the input meets preview criteria, displays a preview area overlaid on at least some of the plurality of user interface objects in the first user interface in response to detecting the first portion of the input, wherein the preview area includes a reduced scale representation of the second user interface; in accordance with a determination that a second portion of the input by the contact meets user-interface-replacement criteria, replaces display of the first user interface and the overlaid preview area with display of the second user interface; and, in accordance with a determination that the second portion of the input by the contact meets preview-area-disappearance criteria, ceases to display the preview area and displays the first user interface after the input ends.

Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a method is performed at an electronic device with a display, a touch-sensitive surface, and one or more sensors for detecting intensities of contacts on the touch-sensitive surface, the method comprising: displaying (1202), on the display, a first user interface that includes a plurality of application icons that correspond to different applications in a plurality of applications; while displaying the first user interface that includes the plurality of application icons, detecting (1204) a first input that includes detecting a first contact on the touch-sensitive surface at a location on the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a first application icon of the plurality of application icons, the first application icon being associated with a first application of the plurality of applications; in response to detecting (1206) the first input: in accordance with a determination that the first input meets application-launching criteria, wherein the application-launching criteria do not require that a characteristic intensity of the first contact on the touch-sensitive surface meet a first intensity threshold in order for the application-launching criteria to be met: launching the first application; and replacing display of the first user interface that includes the plurality of application icons with a user interface of the first application; and, in accordance with a determination that the first input meets menu-presentation criteria, wherein the menu-presentation criteria require that the characteristic intensity of the first contact on the touch-sensitive surface meet the first intensity threshold in order for the menu-presentation criteria to be met, concurrently displaying a contextual content object and a respective interactive graphical user interface object that is associated with the contextual content object, wherein: the contextual content object includes contextually selected content that has been automatically selected from the first application based on a current context of the electronic device; and the respective interactive graphical user interface object, when activated, is configured to add the contextual content object to a second user interface that includes information for multiple applications and that is distinct from the first user interface that includes the plurality of application icons.

Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface, a display, and one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts: displays a plurality of user interface objects in a first user interface; detects a contact while a focus selector is at a location of a first user interface object; and, while the focus selector is at the location of the first user interface object: detects an increase in a characteristic intensity of the contact to a first intensity threshold; in response, visually obscures the plurality of user interface objects, other than the first user interface object, while maintaining display of the first user interface object; detects that the characteristic intensity of the contact continues to increase above the first intensity threshold; and, in response, dynamically increases the amount of visual obscuring of the plurality of user interface objects, other than the first user interface object.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to user interfaces for receiving user input. Some techniques for receiving user input using electronic devices, however, are generally cumbersome and inefficient. For example, composing or preparing a response to a message requires navigating a complex and time-consuming user interface, which may include multiple key presses or keystrokes. Existing techniques require longer than necessary, wasting user time and device energy. This latter consideration is particularly important in battery-operated devices. Accordingly, there is a need for electronic devices with faster, more efficient methods and interfaces for receiving user input. Such methods and interfaces optionally complement or replace conventional methods for receiving user input. Such methods and interfaces reduce the cognitive burden on a user and produce a more efficient human-machine interface. For battery-operated computing devices, such methods and interfaces conserve power and increase the time between battery charges. The above deficiencies and other problems associated with user interfaces for computing devices for receiving user input are reduced or eliminated by the disclosed devices.
