Abstract:
The embodiments set forth herein disclose techniques for enabling a user device to seamlessly establish a secure, high-bandwidth wireless connection with a vehicle accessory system to enable the user device to wirelessly stream user interface (UI) information to the vehicle accessory system. To implement this technique, a low-bandwidth wireless technology (e.g., Bluetooth) is used as an initial means for establishing a Wi-Fi pairing between the user device and the vehicle accessory system. Wi-Fi parameters associated with a Wi-Fi network provided by the vehicle accessory system can be communicated to the user device using the low-bandwidth wireless technology. A secure Wi-Fi connection can then be established between the user device and the vehicle accessory system using the provided Wi-Fi parameters. The embodiments also disclose a technique for enabling the user device to automatically reconnect with the vehicle accessory system in a seamless manner (e.g., when returning to a vehicle).
Abstract:
While a device is in a locked mode of operation in which access to a respective set of features of the electronic device is locked, detecting, with a fingerprint sensor, a first input that corresponds to a request to initiate unlocking the device; and in response to detecting the first input with the fingerprint sensor: determining whether the first input meets one of unlock criteria, first unlock-failure criteria, or second unlock-failure criteria; in accordance with a determination that the first input meets the unlock criteria, transitioning the device from the locked mode to an unlocked mode in which the respective set of features of the electronic device is unlocked; in accordance with a determination that the first input meets the first unlock-failure criteria, maintaining the device in the locked mode and adjusting unlock settings so that the device is enabled to be unlocked via an unlock operation in a first set of one or more unlock operations; and in accordance with a determination that the first input meets the second unlock-failure criteria, maintaining the device in the locked mode and adjusting unlock settings so that the device is enabled to be unlocked via an unlock operation in a second set of one or more unlock operations that is different from the first set of unlock operations.
Abstract:
A method for enabling a vehicle accessory system to interface with multiple computing devices, the method comprising, at the vehicle accessory system: establishing a first wireless link with a first computing device, wherein the first computing device streams, over the first wireless link, a first graphical user interface (GUI) generated by the first computing device; establishing a second wireless link with a second computing device, wherein: the second computing device streams, over the second wireless link, a second GUI generated by the second computing device, and the first and second wireless links are concurrently active; and
displaying, in accordance with a display configuration managed by the vehicle accessory system, a third GUI that includes one or more elements associated with the first GUI or the second GUI.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a biometric sensor is provided which displays a biometric settings interface including a plurality of entries that correspond to respective enrolled sets of biometric information and a biometric enrollment affordance. In response to detecting input using the biometric sensor, and in accordance with a determination that the detected input corresponds to a first set of biometric information, a first entry is highlighted. In response to detecting activation of the biometric enrollment affordance, after detecting the input using the biometric sensor, a process for enrolling biometric information with the biometric sensor is initiated.
