    Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate the use of reference signals in active TCI switching. A user equipment (UE), comprising: a memory interface; and processing circuitry communicatively coupled to the memory interface and configured to: receive a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) message that includes an activation command indicating a target transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state; decode the activation command within a decoding period, where the decoding period is a time period allocated for the UE to decode the activation command; receive a TCI resource where the TCI resource is a reference signal; perform time and frequency tracking associated with the target TCI state according the TCI resource; and switch to the target TCI state after performing time and frequency tracking.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE), baseband processor or other network device (e.g., base station, next generation NodeB, etc. ) can operate to process or generate an acknowledgement (ACK) or a non-acknowledgement (NACK) of a beam report to indicate an autonomous transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state update, which can be a TCI update without a corresponding TCI indication /trigger. The UE can determine the ACK /NACK in response to providing the beam report in the autonomous TCI state update. The UE can then activate a TCI state of the autonomous TCI state update in response to identifying the ACK or re-transmit the beam report for autonomous TCI state update when a NACK is recognized.

    Abstract: Apparatus and method are provided for a user equipment (UE) to perform measurement operations for a handover procedure including target NR Primary Secondary Cell (PSCell) change or addition. The measurements of a target PSCell are performed in accordance with a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block measurement time configuration (SMTC) included in a measurement object received from a base station (BS). A source primary cell (PCell) is used for reference timing of the SMTC if the measurement object is configured by the source PCell on same frequency and subcarrier spacing of the target PSCell.     Abstract: Systems and methods for beam failure recovery (BFR) are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) receives downlink (DL) reference signal (s) on corresponding beam (s) from a base station. The UE performs beam failure detection (BFD) on such beams used for user data to determine whether a beam failure has occurred, and candidate beam detection (CBD) on such beams not used for user data to identify candidate beams for recovering from the beam failure. The BFD and the CBD are based on both uplink (UL) channel performance considerations and DL channel performance considerations, as determined using the DL reference signal (s), such that a beam failure may be determined in the UL, the DL, or both, and a candidate beam may be identified for UL, DL, or both. The UE sends a beam failure recovery request BFRQ with this information to the base station, and the system changes beams accordingly.

    Abstract: In sidelink carrier aggregation, a first user equipment (UE) transmits data packets to a second UE using a plurality of carriers. The second UE transmits Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) ACK/NACK information for the data packets to the first UE via one or more Physical Sidelink Feedback Channels (PSFCHs). The aggregated carriers may be constrained to have the same PSFCH configuration, or not. Resource selection for PSSCH transmission may be performed by considering scheduled PSFCH so as to conform to transmit capability limitations and/or a half-duplex limitation of the first UE and/or the second UE. The PSFCH may be transmitted on a single carrier of said plurality, but include joint HARQ feedback for each of the carriers. Furthermore, HARQ feedback may be transmitted on a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCHs), being signaled by the receive UE (i.e., the UE that transmits the feedback) via sidelink control information (SCI).
