Abstract: Metal complex compounds which in the form of the free acids correspond to the formula I I where A is an aliphatic, carbocyclic or heterocyclic radical, E is an aliphatic or carbocyclic radical, B is a cyano, acyl, substituted sulfonyl, carboxylic acid ester or carboxamide radical, or B and E together with the carbon atoms by which they are linked may be an alicyclic or heterocyclic radical, F is an aliphatic, carbocylic or heterocyclic radical, L is -O-, -COO-, n is 1, 2, 3 or 4, Y is =CH- or =N- and Z is or the radical of a coupling component, alkyl being of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R is hydrogen or unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or acyl and R1 and R2 are substituents conventionally present in dyes. The compounds of the formula I give fast dyeings on natural polyamides and synthetic nylons.

Abstract: A dye of the formula wherein R1 is is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, ethyl, cyano, carboxyl, nitro, tribfluoromethyl, methylsulfonyl, phenylsulfonyl, acetyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, phenoxy, chlorophenoxy or benzoyl; R2 is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, methyl, ethyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, benzthiazol-2-yl, 6-methylbenzthiazol-2-yl, acetylamino, carboxyl aminosulfonyl, or aminocarbonyl; R3 is hydrogen chlorine, bromine or methyl; R5 is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy; and X is fluorohydroxyphosphonyl or dihydroxyphosphonyl. The dye of the present invention is useful in the dyeing of cellulose-containing material, polyamides and leather. The high tinctorial strength of the dyes and the very good lightfastness and wetfastness properties of the dyeings are particularly noteworthy.

Abstract: 2:1-chromium complex dyes of the formula: in which: A is the radical of a carbocyclic diazo component with a complex-forming hydroxy or carboxy group adjacent to the azo bridge; B is the radical of a carbocyclic, heterocyclic or open-chain coupling component with a complex-forming hydroxy or amino group adjacent to the azo bridge; D is the radical of a carbocyclic aldehyde with a complex-forming hydroxy group adjacent to the azomethine bond; E is an aliphatic radical with a complex-forming amino group; and n is the number of carboxy groups not participating in the formation of the complex and the sulfonic acid groups. The dyes are eminently suitable for dyeing natural and synthetic polyamides, clear shades with good fastness properties being obtained.

Abstract: New spirodipyrans of the formula (I) in which A is an optionally substituted benzene or naphthalene nucleus, B is dimethylene, trimethylene or tetramethylene substituted by from 1 to 3 alkyl groups and R1 and R2 are each alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which may be substituted by cyano. The compounds (I) give deep blue to violet colorations with acid materials. They may be used for the manufacture of pressure-sensitive recording materials. The compounds (I) exhibit improved solubility in the solvents used for the manufacture of microcapsules.
