    Abstract: A polyisobutene composition is disclosed with a global maximum for the differential molecular weight distribution curve at a molecular weight Mmax of 3500 to 8000, with at last one local maximum at a molecular weight of 112 to 560. They are applied to high molecular weight isobutene polymers, preferably before or during a distillation, to remove non-reacted isobutene and/or an inert solvent.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing polyisobutenes by means of cationic polymerisation of isobutene or hydrocarbon flows containing isobutene in the liquid phase in the presence of boron trifluoride as a catalyst.     Abstract: A process is disclosed for producing isomer mixtures from Ophenoxyalkylhydroxyl amines Ia: H2N-O-CH2-CH(R1)-O-Ar and Ib: H2N-O-CH(R1)-CH2-O-Ar (wherein R1 represents alkyl, Ar where appropriate a substituted phenyl) and the corresponding salt mixtures.     Abstract: The production of polyisobutene by liquid-phase, cationic polymerization of isobutene in the presence of a boron trifluoride catalyst followed by the addition of a solid deactivator at a required point in time uses a deactivator (I) containing boron trifluoride-binding prim., sec., tert. and/or quat. nitrogen atoms, which is insoluble in the reaction mixture. In the production of polyisobutenes (PIB) by liquid-phase, cationic polymerization of isobutene or hydrocarbon streams containing isobutene in the presence of boron trifluoride as catalyst, the catalytic activity of the BF3 is partly or completely eliminated at a required point in time by means of a solid deactivator which contains BF3-binding prim., sec., tert. and/or quat. nitrogen atoms and is insoluble in the reaction mixture.
