Abstract: The light plaster, also as a thermal insulation, is based on hydraulic bonding agents and additives of polystyrene foam particles containing 01.-10.0 wt% of soot and/or other graphite particles. The hydraulic bonding agents are plaster and wall binders or mixed bonding agents based on lime and cement. The foam particles have a bulk density of 5-20 g\*l , and a mean particle size of 0.5-3.0 mm. The soot and/or graphite particles are incorporated homogeneously in the cell walls of the foam particle structure, or they are applied to the surface.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing graphite particles containing expandable styrene polymers by means of polymerization of styrene in aqueous suspension in the presence of graphite particles and polymerization of two peroxides which disintegrate at varying temperatures. The peroxide which disintegrates at the lower temperature neither forms benzoyl nor benzyl radicals during disintegration.

Abstract: Expanded polypropylene (EPP) beads with a density of 10-200 g/l and a particle diameter of 1-10 mm, contain 0.1-10 wt.% homogeneously dispersed graphite particles. Independent claims are also included for production processes for EPP beads by: (a) impregnating graphite-containing polypropylene (PP) granules with 2-40 wt.% volatile blowing agent in aqueous suspension under pressure at 100-160 deg C, and then releasing the pressure; and (b) extruding PP together with graphite and 2-30 wt.% volatile organic blowing agent at 120-240 deg C and granulating the extruded product.

Abstract: An expandable styrene polymer (I) contains: (A) a polymer matrix consisting of 70-95 wt.% polystyrene or a styrene copolymer containing up to 50% comonomers and 5-30 wt.% of a styrene-butadiene block copolymer; (B) 1-15 wt.% (with respect to (A)) of a volatile blowing agent; and optionally (C) conventional additives. The block copolymer structure: S-B/S(-S)n, in which S = polystyrene block; B/S = butadiene/styrene copolymer block with a statistical distribution of monomers; and n = 0 or 1, with S blocks comprising 5-40 vol. %. Also claimed are: (i) a process for the preparation of (I) by the addition of (B) during or after mixing of (A); and (ii) an elastomeric foam having density 5-150g/cm , which is prepared from (I).
