Abstract: A process for removing acidic gas constituents, of the group consisting of CO2, H2S, COS, CS2 and mercaptans, from gases, in which, in an absorption step, a dirty gas rich in acidic gas constituents is brought into contact with an absorption medium, as a result of which a clean gas low in acidic gas constituents and an absorption medium laden with acidic gas constituents are obtained, the absorption medium used being a mixture comprisinga) from 0.1 to 50% by weight of one or more mono-cyclic or bicyclic nitrogen heterocycles which are unsubstituted and/or monosubstituted or poly-substituted on the carbon by OH, C1-C3 alkyl and/or C1-C3 hydroxyalkyl and which have from 5 to 14 ring atoms and 1 or 2 heterocyclically bound nitrogen atoms per ring as component A,b) from 1 to 60% by weight of a monohydric and/or polyhydric alcohol as component B,c) from 0 to 60% by weight of an aliphatic aminoalcohol as component C,d) from 0 to 98.9% by weight of water as component D,e) from 0 to 35% by weight of K2CO3 as component E,where the sum of components A, B, C, D and E is 100% by weight.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for removing mercaptans from fluid fluxes containing mercaptans, in particular from hydrocarbon gases, such as natural gas, synthesis gas from heavy oil or heavy residues or refinery gas, or also from liquid hydrocarbons, for example, LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). According to the invention, a fluid flux of this type is brought into contac t with a washing solvent in an absorption or extraction zone. Said solvent contains at least one aliphatic alkanolamine which has 2 - 12 C-atoms. Enoug h washing solvent is supplied to the absorption or extraction zone to more or less completely eliminate at least CO2 and H2S from the fluid flux. The substantially purified fluid flux is subsequently separated from the charged washing solvent and both the fluid flux and the washing solvent are evacuate d from the absorption zone. The major part of the mercaptans are removed from the gas flux by the more or less complete removal of CO2 and H2S, without a notable portion of the hydrocarbon gases dissolving in the washing solvent.

Abstract: Absorbent (I) for removing acid gases (II) from fluids comprises (a) tertiary alkanolamine(s) and (b) an amine selected from hydroxyethylpiperazine, bis(hydroxyethylpiperazine or a mixture of these. An independent claim is also included for a process for absorption of (II) from fluid streams by contacting the fluid stream with absorbent (I) to give a fluid stream depleted in (II) and (I) charged with (II).

Abstract: A description is given of the use of an alkylenediamine of the type R 1 HN-X-NHR 2 , where X is an alkylene radical having from 2 to 9 carbons, R 1 is a hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 6 carbons and R 2 is a hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 6 carbons or is hydrogen (H) for removing sour gases from a sour-gas-containing fluid stream, and of a process for deacidifying a fluid stream of this type and a wash liquid or absorption liquid for use in such a process. According to the invention, in at least one absorption step, the fluid stream is brought into intimate contact with a wash liquid, the wash liquid comprising an aqueous amine solution which comprises at least one tertiary aliphatic alkanolamine having from 2 to 12 carbons and an activator of the above type R 1 HN-X-NHR 2 . The fluid stream which is substantially freed from sour gases and the sour-gas-loaded wash liquid are then separated from one another.

Abstract: Method for simulation of mass transport controlled separation processes in which a core-film layer is used to describe a mass exchange taking place at a phase border (P). According to the approach, an iterative solution of an implicit differential equation system is undertaken for discretization of an observed transfer area (10) of the core-film layer, from which the differential equation system, especially based on the Stefan-Maxwell equation, is generated. An independent claim is made for a device for simulation of mass transport controlled separation processes in which a core-film layer is used to describe a mass exchange taking place at a phase border.
