    Abstract: A calanderable, thermoplastic moulding compsn. contains (A) at least 95 wt.% of a non-elastomeric, star-shaped, branched block copolymer from (a) 60-95 wt.% of styrene and (b) 40-5% of a 4-5C conjugated diene, obtd. by sequential anionic polymerisation of (a) and/or (b) with an organo-Li cpd. as initiator in presence of a solvent, followed by coupling, (B) up to 0.2% of an amide of stearic acid or erucic acid as anti-blocking agent, (C) 0.05-2% of a sterically hindered phenol as stabiliser, and (D) 0.05-2% of a stearate of Sn, Ca or an alkali metal as lubricant. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsns. can be calandered to transparent films with a good surface and uniform thickness. The films do not adhere to the rollers and can be withdrawn from the last calander roller without overrun. The films have a quality similar to that of extruded films, can be deep-drawn and can be used for all the applns. of extruded films. The compsn. is used for prodn. of films.

    Abstract: A moulding composition comprising bulk or suspension PVC (A) and microsuspension (PVC) (B). Component A is a homopolymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride having a K value of from 55 to 65 and makes up from 99.9 to 95 % by weight of the moulding composition. Component B is a polymer of vinyl chloride which is present in a proportion of from 0.1 to 5 % by weight and is prepared in suspension by a batch process, has a mean particle diameter (d50 value of the primary particles) of 0.1 to 2.0 mu m and has a K value of from 75 to 90. The moulding composition may additionally contain conventional graft copolymers based on crosslinked or uncrosslinked rubbers and conventional additives and is used for the production of films.

    Abstract: The present invention describes a process for the preparation of ethyldimethylamine and triethylamine with the following steps: (i) reaction of a mixture of diethylamine and dimethylamine with ethylene in the presence of a catalyst from the group of alkali metal dimethylamides, alkali metal diethylamides and alkali metal hydrides (ii) removal of the catalyst (iii) distillation separation of the resulting mixture in triethylamine and ethyldimethylamine and optionally diethylamine and dimethylamine (iv) optional return of the catalyst and of the starting amines to the reaction. The process according to the invention permits the coproduction of ethyldimethylamine and diethylamine in a simple process.
