    Abstract: In a novel process for the production of a flexographic relief printing plate from a photosensitive recording element which contains A) a dimensionally stable substrate and B) at least one photopolymerizable recording layer having b1) at least one elastomeric polymer as a binder, b2) at least one photopolymerizable monomer which is compatible with the binder (b1) and b3) at least one photopolymerizable initiator, by (1) imagewise exposure of the photopolymerizable recording layer (B) to actinic light and (2) washout (development) of the unexposed and therefore nonphotopolymerized parts of the imagewise exposed recording layer (B) with an organic developer with formation of a relief layer, wherein the organic developer contains from 1 pphm (1 part per 100,000,000) to 3% by weight, based on its total amount, of at least one antistatic agent.

    Abstract: For the production of a flexographic relief printing plate, a novel photosensitive printing component is used having a dimensionally stable backing (A), a photopolymerisable printing layer (B) forming a relief image and consisting of at least two individual layers (B), and an optically transparent covering layer (C) securely adhering to the surface of (B). When the photopolymerisable printing layer (B) of the novel photosensitive printing component is exposed to actinic light in the form of an image, a difference in solubility is produced between its exposed and unexposed areas so that its unexposed areas may be washed off (developed) by a solvent. The optically transparent covering layer (C) of the novel photosensitive printing component cannot be dissolved or washed off by the solvent concerned. The novel photosensitive printing component can thus be developed in one working cycle using a "water in oil" or "oil in water" emulsion. These emulsions are also suitable for developing exposed photosensitive printing components whose polymerisable relief image layers (B) consist of at least two individual layers (B) of differing solubility. Here, too, development is completed in one working cycle.

    Abstract: A novel sheet-like light-sensitive recording material I with at least one photopolymerisable, relief-forming layer (A) which, relative to (A), contains a1) 20 to 99.499 % by weight of at least one polymeric binder from the group comprising random ethylene/propylene/alkadiene terpolymers of an ethylene content of from 40 to 80 % by weight and a double bond content of 2 to 20 olefinic double bonds per 1000 carbon atoms, a2) 0.001 to 10 % by weight of at least one photopolymerisation initiator, a3) 0.5 to 50 % by weight of at least one monomer which is compatible with the binder (a1) and contains at least one photopolymerisable olefinic double bond, and a4) 0 to 40 % by weight of at least one auxiliary, by means of which the property pattern is varied, and the production of novel relief plates, relief printing plates and photoresists from these novel recording materials I and novel flexographic printing plates which have been produced from the recording materials I.
