    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent seal joint strength by a method wherein a substrate is coated with an aqueous dispersed solution containing an ethylene polymer containing respective specific amounts of ethylene and en ethylene unsaturated acid, and a radical polymerized polymer, and the coated substrate is fixed by pressure to a base material at a high temperature. SOLUTION: A substrate is sheets of aluminum, polyvinyl chloride, carbon packaging, etc. An aqueous dispersed solution contains an ethylene polymer, and a radical polymerized polymer. The ethylene polymer contains at least 20wt.% of ethylene, at least 5wt.% of ethylenic unsaturated acid (acrylic acid or the like), and 0-60wt.% monomer different therefrom. The radical polymerized polymer contains 30-100wt.% of principal monomer selected from among C1 -C20 alkyl (meth)acrylate and the like. The aqueous dispersed solution is used as sealing lacquer, and coated on the base material, which is integrated by pressure with a non-coated second base material at 80-250 deg.C temperature.

    Abstract: Prodn. involves: (a) seamless application of a photocopying element with a photopolymerisable layer to the surface of a cylinder; (b) buffing the surface of this layer; (c) smoothing the buffed surface by (c-1) treatment with an organic solvent (mixt.), in which the layer is soluble or dispersible, and/or (c-2) filling the buffed relief with a thermoplastic binder, and/or (c-3) applying heat and/or pressure; (d) selective exposure with actinic light; and (e) development by washing out the unexposed areas with a suitable solvent (mixt.). The novelty is that a water-in-oil emulsion (I) is used in stages (c-1), (c-2) and/or (e). (I) contains a finely dispersed aq. phase and a continuous nonflammable or hardly flammable and/or high boiling organic phase (II) in 90:10 to 10:90 vol. ratio.
