    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing essentially unbranched octenes and dodecenes by oligomerising flows of hydrocarbons containing butene-1 and/or butene-2 and butane, said hydrocarbon flows being essentially free of isobutene, at temperatures of 30 to 280 DEG C and at a pressure of 10 to 300 bar over a heterogenous catalyst containing nickel. According to the invention, sufficient quantities of the butane which has separated from the reaction mixture and sufficient quantities of non-reacted butene are reintroduced into the oligomerisation reaction to ensure that the maximum quantity of oligomers contained in the reacted reaction mixture does not exceed 25 wt. % in any part of the reactor or if a reactor cascade is used, in any part of the cascade.

    Abstract: In a nickel-catalysed method for the oligomerization of 4-8C alkenes in a series of 2 or more reactors operating under adiabatic conditions, the feed stream is split and the part-streams are fed into at least 2 of the reactors with the addition of fresh feed so that the temperature in any reactor is not more than 20[deg]C above that in any of the other reactors. A method for the production of oligomers of 4-8C alkenes from a hydrocarbon feed stream containing such alkenes, on a nickel-containing heterogeneous catalyst in a series of 2 or more reactors operating under adiabatic conditions at 30-280[deg]C and 1-300 bar, where: (a) the feed stream is introduced into reaction zone 1 at a temperature T1, (b) the temperature increases in each zone, and (c) if this increase is more than T1 + 20[deg]C, the temperature is adjusted to within the range T1 +- 20[deg]C before the mixture is fed into the next zone. In this method, the feed stream is split and the part-streams are fed into at least two of the reactors with the addition of fresh feed so that the temperature in any one reactor is not more than 20[deg]C above that in any of the other reactors.

    Abstract: Hydroformylation of olefins is carried out in a vertical tubular reactor with a circulation loop, a nozzle at the top, an internal guide tube and a baffle plate below the tube, so that a stream of liquid with gas bubbles is forced down the tube, deflected into the upward liquid stream in the space between tube and reactor wall and sucked back into the tube. A process for the production of aldehydes and/or alcohols or amines by the liquid-phase reaction of olefins with carbon monoxide and hydrogen (this gas mixture being partly in the form of bubbles and partly dissolved in the reaction liquid) at elevated temperature and 1-100 bar in the presence or absence of a prim. or sec. amine and in presence of homogeneously dissolved cobalt-, rhodium-, palladium- or ruthenium-carbonyl complexes with phosphorus-, arsenic-, antimony- or nitrogen-containing ligands. The reaction is performed in a vertical tubular reactor comprising a reactor body and at least one circulating loop, by means of which part of the reaction liquid is continuously fed into a nozzle at the top of the reactor and thence into an internal guide tube with parallel walls, open at the top and bottom and with a baffle plate mounted under the lower end. This produces a downward stream of liquid with dispersed gas bubbles, which is deflected by the baffle plate into a stream flowing upwards in the space between the tube and the reactor wall and then sucked into the top of the guide tube by the jet from the nozzle.
