The invention relates to a method for producing oil, in particular Winsor Type III microemulsion flooding, wherein an aqueous surfactant formulation comprising at least one non-ionic surfactant having 8 to 40 ethoxy units and having a polydispersion index of 1.01 to 1.12, and at least one further surfactant is pressed through injection wells into an oil deposit, and crude oil is extracted from the deposit via production wells.

A process for mineral oil production, especially Winsor type III microemulsion flooding, in which an aqueous surfactant formulation is used which comprises at least one alkyl polyalkoxysulphate containing propoxy groups, and also at least one further, different surfactant, is forced through injection wells into a mineral oil deposit, and crude oil is removed from the deposit through production wells. The alkyl polyalkoxysulphate containing propoxy groups here is prepared by sulphating an alkoxylated alcohol, the alkoxylated alcohol being prepared by alkoxylating an alcohol using double metal cyanide catalysts or double hydroxide clays.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF SYNTHESIS OF ANIONIC SURFACTANTS BY ALKOXYLATION OF A GUERBET ALCOHOL (GA) HAVING 12 TO 36 CARBON ATOMS USING BUTYLENE OXIDE, AND OPTIONALLY PROPYLENE OXIDE AND/OR ETHYLENE OXIDE FOLLOWED BY THE INCORPORATION OF A TERMINAL ANIONIC GROUP ARE DESCRIBED HEREIN. THE GA OF THE PRESENT INVENTION IS MADE BY A FACILE AND INEXPENSIVE METHOD THAT INVOLVES HIGH TEMPERATURE BASE CATALYZED DIMERIZATION OF ALCOHOLS WITH 6 TO 18 CARBON ATOMS. THE LARGE HYDROPHOBE ETHER SURFACTANTS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION FIND USES IN ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY (EOR) APPLICATIONS WHERE IT IS USED FOR SOLUBILIZATION AND MOBILIZATION OF OIL AND FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP. FURTHER, THE HYDROPHOBE ALKOXYLATED GA WITHOUT ANIONIC TERMINAL GROUP CAN BE USED AS AN ULTRA- HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT NON-IONIC SURFACTANT.

Se describen composiciones y métodos de síntesis de tensioactivos aniónicos mediante la alcoxilación de un alcohol de Guerbet (GA) que tiene de 12 a 36 átomos de carbono utilizando óxido de butileno, y opcionalmente oxido de propileno y/u óxido de etileno, seguida por la incorporación de un grupo aniónico terminal como se describe en este documento. El GA de la presente invención es preparado por un método fácil y económico que involucra una dimerización de alcoholes con 6 a 18 átomos de carbono catalizada por una base, a alta temperatura. Los tensioactivos éter hidrófobos grandes de la presente invención encuentran usos en las aplicaciones de recuperación mejorada de petróleo (EOR) en donde se utiliza para la solubilización y movilización del petróleo y para la limpieza ambiental. Además, el GA alcoxilado hidrófobo sin grupo aniónico terminal se puede usar como un tensioactivo no iónico de ultra alto peso molecular.

Un proceso para la extracción de petróleo, en especial mediante anegación por microemulsión tipo Winsor III, en el que una formulación acuosa de agentes tensioactivos que comprende al menos un agente tensioactivo no iónico que presenta 8 a 30 unidades etoxi que presenta una polidispersidad de 1,10 a 1,12 y al menos un agente tensioactivo adicional que difiere del anterior, es forzado a través de perforaciones de inyección en un yacimiento petrolífero y se extrae petróleo crudo del yacimiento a través de perforaciones de producción.

Compositions and methods of synthesis of anionic surfactants by alkoxylation of a Guerbet alcohol (GA) having 12 to 36 carbon atoms using butylene oxide, and optionally propylene oxide and/or ethylene oxide followed by the incorporation of a terminal anionic group are described herein. The GA of the present invention is made by a facile and inexpensive method that involves high temperature base catalyzed dimerization of alcohols with 6 to 18 carbon atoms. The large hydrophobe ether surfactants of the present invention find uses in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) applications where it is used for solubilization and mobilization of oil and for environmental cleanup. Further, the hydrophobe alkoxylated GA without anionic terminal group can be used as an ultra- high molecular weight non-ionic surfactant.
