Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a production process of a roller for an electrophotography, having a surface layer the electric resistance of which has been controlled by corona discharge treatment while keeping any pinholes from coming about on the surface. A production process of a roller for an electrophotography, said roller comprising a conductive mandrel and a conductive surface layer comprising a resin and carbon black dispersed in the resin, the process having the following steps (1) to (3): (1) forming a resin layer comprising a resin and carbon black dispersed therein on the circumference of the conductive mandel; (2) attaching silica particles on the surface of the resin layer; and (3) subjecting corona discharge treatment to the surface of the resin layer on which the silica particles are attached.

Provided are a development device in which it is possible to reduce the occurrence of fogging in a low temperature environment, and an electrophotographic image formation device with which it is possible to stably form an image over a long period of time. The development device has a toner (1), a development roller (2), and a toner restriction member. The toner (1) satisfies the following conditions: 40‰¤Z(25)‰¤80 and 10‰¤Z(10)‰¤55 (wherein Z(Y) represents the percentile of (X 3(Y) -X 4(Y) ) relative to X 3(Y) at Y°C, X 3(Y) represents the displacement amount obtained after displacement amount (X 2(Y) ) is left to stand for 0.1 seconds, X 2(Y) represents the displacement amount when a 2.94×10 -4 N load is applied at 9.8×10 -5 N/sec, and X 4(Y) represents the displacement amount at 0N when the load is reduced by 9.8×10 -5 N/sec); 0.49×10 -3 ‰¤R(25)‰¤1.70×10 -3 (wherein R(25) represents the tilt from the starting point to the maximum load in the load displacement curve of the toner at 25°C); and 15°C‰¤(P1-TgA)‰¤70°C (wherein TgA represents a glass transition temperature between 40 and 60°C, and P1 represents the maximum heat absorption peak temperature between 70 and 110°C). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device having the electrifying device of a contact electrification type by which the frequency of maintenance is reduced by maintaining electrifying performance over a long term even at the time of using the electrifying device of the contact electrification type. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic device using a direct injection electrifying means, a negative electrification an a-Si photoreceptor is selected as a used photoreceptor 102, and a flexible electrifying member 101 is used and electrification acceleration particles are applied to its surface as an electrifying means, and the resistance value of an electrifying member is selected in the range of 103-107 Ω, and the resistivity of the electrification acceleration particles is selected in the range of 101-109 Ωcm, or a magnetic brush layer is formed of magnetic particles on the member 101 having magnetic force and its surface, and the magnetic particles whose resistivity is in the range of 102-107 Ωcm are used.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide constitution equipped with a cleaning means made effective to prevent toner or the like from remaining on a roller and the surface of a photoreceptor and a foreign matter from adhering thereto in an electrophotographic device using a gap roller in order to appropriately maintain space between a photoreceptor drum and various kinds of members. SOLUTION: A gap roller cleaning means 103 is provided by selecting the surface material of the photoreceptor 101, the surface material of the roller 102 and the material of toner so as to satisfy relation (A) γG>γD, γT concerning the surface free energy γD of the surface of the photoreceptor, the surface free energy γG of the surface of the roller and the surface free energy γT of the toner, or a cleaning mechanism 104 for the roller abutting part of the photoreceptor drum is provided by selecting them so as to satisfy relation (B) γD>γT>γG. Either device constitution is adopted.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner and an image forming method for maintaining good image quality over a long period by preventing the toner from melt-sticking to a photoreceptor, even in the case of using small-grain toner in a high-speed digital machine. SOLUTION: As for the toner for visualizing an electrostatic latent image carried on an electrostatic latent image carrier, the electrostatic latent image carrier is constituted of a conductive substrate, a photoconductive layer containing at least amorphous silicone and a surface protecting layer successively layered on the conductive substrate, and the composition of the boundary area between the photoconductive layer and the surface protecting layer is continuously changed, the average inclination Δa of the photoreceptor surface is controlled to be 0.12 to 1.0, the mass average diameter X of the toner is 5 to 12 μm, and also, the number reference accumulated Y of particles having a roundness of >=0.950 among the toner particles having the particle diameter of >=3 μm fetches and satisfies the following expression; Y>=exp(5.51)×X .
