Abstract: PURPOSE:To send a correct picture by setting a line speed to a speed slower than a data transmission speed with a host so as to prevent under run or excess of filled fill bits. CONSTITUTION:The speed of a picture data transmitted from a host by the facsimile mode is decided and a picture error is decreased by setting the MO DEM speed slower than the transfer speed of the host by a digital instruction signal DCS. Especially, this method is effective when a code data of the host is communicated by using a facsimile procedure and the code data is subject to format conversion into a picture bit data and the result is sent to a facsimile equipment. When an opposite equipment is a personal computer or the like, the communication procedure of the personal computer communication or the wordprocessor communication is selected from a ROM to execute the communication. In such a case, no data format conversion is applied to send the code data.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily recognize the status of a line and to prevent inconvenience in communication from occurring, by displaying line speed after completing a modem procedure. CONSTITUTION:A personal computer 10 is connected to a communication line 9 through a personal computer communication control equipment 1. In the personal computer communication control equipment 1, a call issuing side sends the line speed sent with an MFI to a display part 6 via an I/O interface part 5. In other words, a numeral (240) is displayed corresponding to an MFI signal of 2400bps, and a numeral (480) is displayed corresponding to an MFI signal of 4800 bps. Also, in an incoming call side, the line speed of the MFI received at the last stage is sent to the display part 6 via an I/O interface part 6.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To rapidly detect the state of a terminating side at the start of automatic calling by monitoring sound on a communication line by communication control equipment connected between a personal computer and the communication line. CONSTITUTION:When a calling instruction is generated from the personal computer 8, a selecting signal is sent to the communication line 9 and the sound on the line 9 is monitored by a speaker 7. An operator listens the sound from the speaker 7 and decides the terminating side is busy, the operator outputs a call stop commond. Receiving the command, the personal computer communication control equipment 1 stops a calling body. Thus, the state of the terminating side can be rapidly detected at the start of automatic calling.

The information channel is set to a terminal connector (BSU) 5 so as to use the preset information channel by using the keyboard 10, and a broad band channel is used for, e.g., picture information and a narrow band channel is used for a telephone call. Moreover, the changeover to a telephone call is instructed by on/off of a hook switch 12.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve operation convenience in the case of bulk communication by displaying a message indicating disable dialing onto a display panel section when a dial request of other mode takes place during bulk communication in the G4 mode. CONSTITUTION:The operator monitors the depression of a B channel release button during bulk communication and when depressed, off-hook of a bulk communication transmitter-receiver 9a is monitored. When off-hook, for example a port of a B channel is selected for a B1 channel only. That is, ports for B1, B2 channels have been used during bulk communication but the picture information is sent by using only one way. Then an interruption purpose 'DISC' command is sent to an ISDN line 12 and awaits a reply purpose 'REL' command from the line 12. Upon the receipt of the 'REL' command, a 'REL COMP' command for reply acknowledge is sent to the line 12 and the release of one B channel is finished.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To remarkably improve the operability of the scanner as a reader by providing the scanner with an irradiating means consisting of plural light emitting elements for irradiating an original with light, a reading means for reading out image information from the original and storing the read contents and a means for emitting the irradiating means in accordance with the stored information. CONSTITUTION:When a user turns on a read-out key 26 mounted on the scanner and manually runs a scanning roller 15 over the surface of the original, the image of the original can be read out. At the time of detecting the ON of the key 26 through an interface circuit 25, a CPU 22 drives a display device 28, turns on a lamp for informing the execution of reading and then starts the reading image reading operation. The CPU 22 instructs a read-out driving circuit 12 to drive a light emitting element group 14 to illuminate the surface of the original 31. Consequently, optical information from the surface of the original 31 is made incident upon a solid-state image pickup element 13 and converted into an electric signal.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable alternative reception by another terminal even when a call incoming terminal is busy and can not execute reception by selecting the receivable terminal when it is decided that the communication terminal called from an ISDN network is unreceivable and executing protocol conversion to match a communication protocol when the communication protocol is different from that of a call originating terminal. CONSTITUTION:When a 'call set' (SET UP) command is received from an ISDN network 12 and call incoming to a G4 facsimile equipment 10 is instructed by the parameter of the 'call set' command, a 'call incoming' command is sent to the G4 facsimile equipment 10. When a 'recovery request' command is received from the G4 facsimile equipment 10, a 'connection' command is sent to the ISDN network 12 and a call incoming signal is sent to a G3 facsimile equipment 11. Then, polarity inversion from the G3 facsimile equipment 11 is monitored and when the polarity inversion is detected, the protocol conversion is executed from a G4 facsimile procedure to a G3 facsimile procedure.

Then a FAX 10 is connected to an NCU(network control unit) 6 via an incoming call detection section 7 and a communication section 9, a CPU 4 discriminates whether the incoming call is an incoming call to its own FAX 10 from other FAX at the detection of the incoming call of the incoming call detection section 7 or an incoming call to its own host 20 from other information processor and connects the line 8 to either the communication section 9 or the host 20 according to the result of discrimination. Thus, from which kind of equipment the incoming call comes is discriminated in the presence of the incoming call from the line 8 and the desired equipment is connected and the communication with a desired opposite party is attained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To transmit a data automatically to the opposite party by providing a means storing a data of a terminal equipment and sending the said data without a command of the terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:In case of receiving a storage request from a personal computer 20, a communication controller 1 stores a transmission data to be sent to the opposite party into a RAM 4. Then the controller 1 is in the standby state till an incoming call comes from the opposite personal computer. In this case, the opposite personal computer is started and when an incoming call comes, the communication controller 1 establishes a data link layer and a network layer and establishes a session layer when an identification name of the opposite party is correct. Then the transmission data stored in the RAM 4 is read out and the transmission data is sent to the opposite party.
