    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the working rate and productivity by providing functions for measuring the position, a drilling diameter and a drilling area of each work and functions for controlling the laser power and irradiating time of a laser beam oscillator on a laser drilling device. CONSTITUTION:The laser drilling device is composed of a laser beam machine 1 for machining a resin mold, laser optical systems 21-25 including a mask for drilling, regulating mechanisms 41-45 for alignment of the works, observation systems 33, 33' for observing the works 81, 82 including an illumination 31, a picture processing device 5 for taking pictures of the works 81, 82 with ITV cameras 34, 34' and measuring the positions, drilling diameters and drilling areas of the works 81, 82 by picture recognition and a controller 6 for controlling these devices and automatically controlling the power and irradiating time of the laser beam machine 1 in accordance with the measured values of the drilling hole diameter and drilling area.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve full automation and hold constant the accuracy of position adjustment by providing a control means which drivingly moves first to sixth drive means to drivingly move first to sixth stages according to the results of computations by a picture processing means so that heaters are in a predetermined positional relationship to corresponding nozzles. CONSTITUTION:An assembling unit 10 by which a top board member in which nozzles corresponding to plural heaters are formed is mounted on a heater board having the plural heaters formed thereon is provided with a first camera 42g for taking images of the plural heaters and a second camera for taking images of the plural nozzles. The positions of the heaters and the nozzles and the relationship among the positions are computed by a picture processing unit 44 according to image information taken by the first and second cameras 42g, 40g. Next, each stage 18, 20, 22, 28, 30, 32 is drivingly controlled by a control unit 38 according to the result of this computation so that the heaters are in a predetermined positional relationship to the corresponding nozzles thus holding constant the accuracy of position adjustment.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To adjust the position of a mask without assistance by requiring an amount of deviation of a mask from a hole position to a laser beam axis and moving the mask through a mask position adjusting mechanism to correct this. CONSTITUTION:In a laser beam machine, alignment of a work W is performed as the central position of prescribed two slots is agreed with the central position of two holes corresponding to two slots of holes made on the work W previously. The central position of this hole and the central position of the slot are obtained by processing image signals of the holes and slots observed by ITVs 71, 81 of the measurement optics systems 70, 80 through the image processing systems 208,209. The central position of the hole obtained is stored in a storage means RAM 202 as a reference value through a control system 200. Further, in the control system 200, the central position of the slot obtained by the image processing systems 208, 209 is compared with the reference value to calculate the amount of deviation of the work W, the calculated amount of deviation is transmitted to the controller 206 of the mobile system as an amount of travel and a mobile stage 120 is driven to agree the center of the hole of the work W with the center of the slot.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to recognize the registration from the discharge port formed surface side when groove parts on a second substrate and ink discharge energy generating elements are registered by a method wherein a pattern for registration is provided at a spot which is in the vicinity of discharge ports on a substrate having discharge energy generating elements for ink, and which is previously designated with respect to the previously mentioned elements. CONSTITUTION:A first substrate 1 is constituted by arranging a desired quantity of discharge energy generating elements 2 such as heating elements or piezo elements, etc., on a base 1A which is made of, e.g. silicone. In addition, a pattern 3 is provided at a spot on an extension line which is extended from ink discharge energy generating elements 2, which are located at both right and left ends, in the direction of a discharge port surface. The positional relationship between both parts is that they are located on a same straight line in the discharging direction, and the pattern 3 is positioned in the vicinity of discharge ports. Registration between grooves 6 to form ink liquid passages, etc., on a second substrate 5 and the ink discharge energy generating elements 2 can be performed while recognizing the image of the pattern 3 and the groove 6 from the discharge port formed surface side. By this method, regardless of the forming material of the second substrate, an ink jet head can be manufactured by joining both substrates with high target registration accuracy.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate wiping and capping by a method wherein a substrate is bonded with a top member on which recessed parts are provided for forming ink paths with the recessed part inside, and delivery ports are formed on a planar member which is formed integrally with the top member so as to extend both upwards and downwards from the end part of the top member. CONSTITUTION:A receiving port 1500 for supplying an ink to ink paths is formed by bonding a grooved top plate 1300 with a heater board 100. An orifice plate 400 extending both upwards and downwards from the end part of the top plate is formed integrally with the grooved top plate 1300. The body of the orifice plate 400 is determined to be 200mum in thickness to obtain a strength. Only the part of the orifices 41 is determined to be 10-50mum in thickness for the ease of forming orifices using a layer or the like. The orifice plate body is formed so that the thickness gradually becomes large from the part of the orifices 41 to the both end parts. Moreover, the both ends of the orifice train are determined to be 200mum as thick as the orifice plate body by taking a strength and an airtightness in capping into consideration.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent that an adhesive may flow into an ink path to cause clogging or change in shape of the ink path by a method wherein the ink paths are formed by bonding a substrate with a top member with the recessed parts of the top member inside, and an adhesively tacking part is provided in an area other than the ink paths. CONSTITUTION:A heater board(substrate) 100 and a top plate (top member with recessed parts) 1300 are positioned to each other by abutting the end face of the heater board 100 against an orifice plate 400. An adhesive 1300c is applied to two adhesively tacking parts 1300a provided on the outer end part of the top plate 1300, and the both are bonded and tacked with each other so that liquid paths 1300d are corresponding to heat generation parts 100a of electrothermal conversion body. Because the tacking parts 1300a are provided in an area where the top plate 1300 is bonded to the heater board 100 but out of an area where the ink paths are formed, the adhesive 1300c can be prevented from flowing into the liquid paths 1300d as ink paths and a common liquid chamber 1300e.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To press an area of an upper surface of a grooved top plate corresponding to an ink path forming area in the vicinity of ink delivery ports by application of an approximately uniform pressing force by a method wherein a first substrate is depressed against a second substrate by generating a linear pressure by an end part of a plate spring member. CONSTITUTION:A planar spring member 4 formed into substantially a U shape is provided with a plane part 4c disposed in nearly parallel to the upper surface of a grooved top plate 2 and side face parts 4d disposed along the bonding surface of a substrate 1 with the grooved top plate 2. An arm part 4e for applying a pressing force to the planar spring member 4 by engaging with a support board 3 is provided on the side face part 4d. Moreover, a linear pressure generation part 6 extending from the plane part 4c and being bent toward the upper surface of the grooved top plate 2 is provided. The linear pressure generation part 6 linearly presses and bonds the substrate 1 and the grooved top plate 2 to each other by the linear pressure, thus resulting in a concentrated pressing stress and a uniform pressing force. In this manner, the linear pressure generation part 6 uniformly presses an ink path forming area or the vicinity of delivery ports over almost the full width thereof, therefore positively preventing a gap which has been generated between adjacent ink paths 7.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase a capillary force to improve the creeping of a sealant to a front-surface seal and thereabouts by a method wherein an adhesive tape is divided into two parts by forming a slit on the center thereof, and each of the adhesive tapes is tapered or shaped into a fore that the cross sectional area is gradually reduced to its end. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive tape 4 attached on the surfaces of a base plate 3 and an ink supply member 5 conducts the application of a front-surface seal 6 as well as the forming of a flow path of a sealant 7. Thus, the adhesive tape 4 is attached so as to be spaced a distance from the top surface of the base plate 3. Where the width of a slit at the center is 0.6mm and a distance from the top surface of the base plate 3 to the adhesive tape 4 is 0.6mm at a minimum and 0.8mm at a maximum, the sealant 7 is sufficiently creeped. These numeric values are varied depending on the specification of a recording head. The respective values can be determined so as to ensure an improved creeping of a sealant and a sufficient adhesion of the base plate with the front- surface seal.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a manufacturing cost and to erase a performance deterioration due to contour effect by extending at least one of magnetism films, along the border of a high permeability member and a non-magnetism member from the both edges of a magnetic gap and changing the film thickness according to a depth from a medium sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic head constituted by confronting core halves, with which a high saturation magnetic flux density magnetism film 2 is attached on a high permeability member block 1, through a magnetic gap 3, at least one of magnetism films 2, is respectively extended along the border of the high permeability member and a non-magnetism member to contact to the both edges of the magnetic gap 3. Since also the film thickness of the magnetism film 2 is changed according to a depth from a medium sliding surface, as for the depth direction of the gap 3, the border of the high permeability member 1 and the magnetism film 2 comes to be non-parallel to the magnetic gap 3. Thus, a bad influence due to the contour effect is removed almost perfectly and a satisfactory electro-magnetic converting characteristic can be obtained.
