Abstract: The controller has an input interface (11), which is formed for obtaining an actuation signal and a service brake signal. The actuation signal represents an instruction to controller for releasing the electrical parking brake (9). The service brake signal represents the condition of an actuation brake of the vehicle. An output interface (12) is formed for emitting a control signal for an electrical parking brake. The controller is formed to generate a control signal during failure of service brake signal, if the temporary process of the actuation signal corresponds to a specified sample. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an electrical parking brake, which has a fastening element; and (2) a method for loosening a determined electrical parking brake.

The vehicle speed (V) prevailing when the at least one actuating element (BE) is actuated is advantageously determined and the application speed (AV) of the brake mechanism unit (BME) is selected depending on the determined vehicle speed.

Vorzugweise erfolgt eine Bewertung hinsichtlich der Belastung und/oder Dämpfung durch den Fahrerfuß und/oder Schuh und für nachfolgende Ansteuerungen eine Anpassung der Stärke des elektrischen Ansteuersignals.

When the parking brake is applied, travel-force values are detected and a plausibility check is run, the values being used to arrive at a first optimized position when the brake is released. If the residual force applied to the brake exceeds a threshold value, the parking brake is released even more until the value remains just under the threshold value or until a maximum defined release travel is achieved.

The control determines the output path and the output force of the drive unit from the measuring signals. The control stops the drive unit when the output path of the drive unit exceeds a certain limit value, where the limit value of the output path is determined based on the output force. An independent claim is also included for a method for stopping a drive of an electrical parking brake.
