Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent an ink from bleeding upon recording, prevent the ink from bleeding even when a paper is wetted after recording and prevent a record from being lost, by incorporating a quaternary ammonium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose into recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A quaternary ammonium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) can be synthesized from sodium salt of CMC and a quaternary ammonium salt such as a quaternary ammonium halide salt. As CMC, one having a degree of substitution by carboxymethyl of at least 1.5, and preferably at least 2.0, is used. The quaternary ammonium salt may be a lauryltrimethylammonium salt, a cetyltrimethylammonium salt or the like, and the anion constituting the salt is suitably a halide ion such as chloride, bromide and fluoride ion, sulfate ion, nitrate ion, phosphate ion or the like. Recording paper comprising the quaternary ammonium salt of CMC can be produced by providing the paper with a solution of the salt in an organic solvent by spraying, coating, immersion or impregnation, followed by removing the solvent.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a primer composition containing a prescribed epoxy modified block copolymer, providing a resin molding of a polyolefin, etc., with a primer layer having excellent adhesiveness without pretreatment with a chlorine- based solvent. CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. of an epoxy modified block copolymer prepared by epoxidizing a conjugated diene- derived double bond of a block copolymer comprising a block composed of an aromatic vinyl compound (preferably styrene) structural unit and a block composed of a conjugated diene block (preferably butadiene and/or isoprene) structural unit with (B) 50-10,000 pts.wt., preferably 200-2,000 pts.wt. of an organic solvent (preferably toluene). To be concrete, a partially hydrogenated styrene-isoprene block copolymer is preferably used as the block copolymer of the component A. The degree of the epoxidation of the component A is preferably 1-5wt.% of oxirane oxygen concentration.

CONSTITUTION:A water absorbing compsn. is constituted of an epoxy-modified block polymer (a) obtained by epoxidizing the unsaturated carbon-carbon double bond of the conjugated diene compd. of a block copolymer consisting of a polymer block based on a vinyl aromatic compd. and a polymer block based on a conjugated diene compd. and a highly water-absorbing resin (b) and the water absorption thereof is set to 5-100wt.%. By this constitution, the water absorbing compsn. excellent in water absorbency, water swelling property, water retention and mechanical strength is obtained.

CONSTITUTION:This unsaturated polyester resin composition is composed of (A) an unsaturated polyester resin in an amount of, preferably, 20-60 pts.wt., (B) an epoxy-modified block polymer obtained by the epoxidation of the double bonds of a conjugate diene-containing unsaturated-hydrocarbon moieties of a block copolymer comprising polymer blocks mainly containing vinyl aromatic compounds and polymer blocks mainly containing conjugate diene compounds in a molecule (an epoxy equivalent is preferably 140--10000), in an amount of, preferably, 5-40 pts.wt., (C) a vinyl monomer, e.g. styrene in an amount of, preferably, 20-70 pts.wt. and (D) a curing agent, e.g. dicumyl peroxide in an amount of, preferably, 0.5-3 pts.wt. (based on the total of the components A to C of 100 pts.wt.).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject elastomer useful as a hot-melt adhesive excellent in initial bond strength, cohesive strength and heat resistance by modifying a specific epoxidized styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer with a specified silane compound. SOLUTION: This silane-modified thermoplastic elastomer is obtained by modifying (A) an epoxidixed styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer prepared by epoxidizing double bonds derived from a block copolymer comprising a polymer block consisting essentially of a styrene-based compound and a polymer block consisting essentially of a conjugated diene compound (a partial hydrogenated substance) with (B) (i) a silane compound (an acid anhydride) represented by the formula R -Si-Y3 (R is a carboxyl-containing hydrocarbon or a hydrocarbonoxy; Ys may receptively be different and at least one is a hydrolyzable organic functional group) or (ii) a silane compound represented by the formula R -Si-Y3 (R is a carboxylic acid anhydride group-containing hydrocarbon; Ys may respectively be different and at least one is a hydrolyzable organic functional group).

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition, excellent in various physical properties such as impact resistance and molding processability, capable of recarrying out the molding processing and useful for countermeasures for environmental problems by crushing a molded and processed product and melt kneading the crushed product with an epoxidized (partially hydrogenated)diene-based polymer. CONSTITUTION: (A) A molded and processed product comprising (i) a thermoplastic resin (preferably a saturated polyester resin or a polycarbonate resin) or (ii) a thermoplastic resin composition (preferably comprising at least two selected from the saturated polyester resin, the polycarbonate resin, a polyamide resin, an ABS-based resin, a polystyrene-based resin, an As resin, a polyarylene sulfide resin, a polyarylene ester resin and polyphenylene ether resin) is crushed. The resultant resin pieces in an amount of 100 pts.wt. are then melt kneaded with (B) 0.1-30 pts.wt. epoxidized (partially hydrogenated)diene-based polymer to afford the objective composition. Furthermore, the component (A) is preferably a crushed product of a bottle, etc., made of polyethylene terephthalate resin.
