    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyether-imide copolymer of excellent melt flow property, comprising units having a skeleton derived from a specified dihydric phenol and units having a skeleton derived from another dihydric phenol. CONSTITUTION:This copolymer has repeating units of formula I, wherein the amount ot Ar is 1-99wt.% and the amount of Ar' is 99-1wt.%. In formula I, Ar and Ar' are different from each other and are 6-44 C bivalent organic groups, and R is a bivalent organic group selected from among a 6 C or higher aromatic hydrocarbon group derived from an organic diamine or an organic diisocyanate, its halogenated derivative, an alkylene group, a cycloalkylene group, an alkylene group-terminated polyorganosiloxane and a group ot formula II. In formula II, X is -O-, -S-, -CyH2y- or the like, Y is an integer of 1-10, p is an integer of 0-10, and R5-R8 are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-5 C alkyl group. Ar is a bivalent organic group of formula III (wherein R1-R4 are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a 1-5 C linear or branched alkyl group). It is desirable that Ar' is a group of formula IV.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the scratch resistance, hot-water resistance, weather resistance, etc., of a plastic molding, by applying a specified primer to the surface of the molding, heating the applied primer, applying a condensate of partially hydrolyzed alkyltrialkoxysilane, and curing the film. CONSTITUTION:A primer is prepared by adding 1-50pts.wt. curing agent (e.g., xylylene diisocyanate) to 100pts.wt. copolymer with MW of 10,000-30,000, acid value of 0.5-5.0 KOH mg/g and OH value of 30-60 KOH mg/g, and dissolving the mixture in a solvent. This primer is applied to the surface of a plastic molding, and dried at 60-130 deg.C for 5min-2hr. A condensate of a partially hydrolyzed alkyltrialkoxysilane is applied to the surface and cured by heating at 50- 140 deg.C for 5min-20hr.
