    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the scratch resistance, adhesion, hot-water resistance, and weather resistance of a polycarbonate molding, by applying a condensate of a partially hydrolyzed alkyltrialkoxysilane to the surface of the molding through a specified primer and curing the applied film.
    CONSTITUTION: In the surface treatment of a polycarbonate molding by applying a primer to the surface of the molding, then heat-treating it, applying thereto a paint based on a condensate of a partially hydrolyzed alkyltrialkoxysilane, and curing the film; said primer comprises a polymer of an ε-caprolactone modified vinyl monomer of the formula, wherein R
