Abstract: Polymeric mono-, di-, tri- and tetra-sulfides are described having an organopolysiloxane base structure of the units: R1-S1-4-R2 (1) wherein R1 and R2 may be the same or different and represent a group of the formula: R3-SiO3/2 (2) and which base structure may further optionally contain the heteroatoms titanium or aluminum, wherein R3 is an alkylene group and the free valencies of the oxygen atoms are saturated by silicon atoms of additional groups of formula (2), optionally with the insertion of cross-linking silicon-, titanium- or aluminum compounds, whereby the ratio of the silicon atoms in formula (2) to the silicon-, titanium- and aluminum atoms of any cross-linking agent may range from 1:0 to 1:10. In addition, processes for obtaining the sulfides and the use of these sulfides for the removal of certain ions from solutions are described.

Abstract: Formed spherical polymeric complexes of metals of the 8th subgroup of the periodic system with ligands of an organosiloxane copolycondensate, optionally cross-linked by means of cross-linking agents containing Si, Ti, Zr and/or Al (statistical, block-shaped or mixed). This copolycondensate consists of the units (see fig. I) (see fig. II) and wherein (see fig. III) , wherein R5 stands for alkylines with C1 - C10 linked directly to P or N, respectively, cycloalkyls with C5 - C8 or (see fig. IV) respectively (see fig. V) The ratio between the molar number of units (II) and the molar number of the bonded metal atoms amounts to 1:1 to 1000:1, and the ratio between the units (I) and (II) preferably is 10:90 to 95:5 mole %. The polymeric complex compounds are present macroscopically as spherical particles with diameters of 0.01 to 3.0 mm, with a BET-surface of >0 to 1000 m2/g, a specific pore volume of 0.01 to 6.5 ml/g, and a bulk density of 50 to 1000 g/l. Several processes for preparing the substances are provided, with special secondary treatment stages, and use of the polymeric metal complexes as catalysts in organic chemistry are described.

Abstract: New rhodium containing organopolysiloxane-ammonium compounds are described which consist of units of the formula (1) in which R1, R2 and R3 are R5-SiO3/2 (2), R5 is an alkylene group and the free valences of the oxygen atoms are saturated by silicon atoms of other groups (2), optionally with the insertion of cross-linking agents, R4 is hydrogen, an alkyl, cycloalkyl or benzyl group, xn- is a complex monovalent or polyvalent metal anion of rhodium and chloride, bromide or iodide. Methods for preparing these rhodium-containing organopolysiloxane-ammonium compounds as well as their use as catalysts in reactions with carbon monoxide are also disclosed.
