Abstract:
A unit dose package dispenser (1) including a drawer (13) and ramp (7) such that unit dose packages are urged through an aperture (10) and into the drawer (13). The ramp (7) is elevated from the bottom region (6) of the container (1) so as to isolate the contents of the container from moisture. A cover (14) formed integrally with the container front wall (4) tends to protect the contents of the drawer (13) from moisture in the surrounding environment.
Abstract:
A food additive microbicidal composition consisting essentially of a major portion of carrier and an effective sanitizing amount of octanoic acid. Optionally, the invention may also consist essentially of any variety of formulatory ingredient options or application adjuvants. The invention comprises concentrate compositions and methods of sanitizing and disinfecting using the antimicrobial composition of the invention.
Abstract:
A method for cleaning polyethylene terephthalate containers including contacting the PET container with an alkaline wash solution having a temperature ranging of less than about 60 DEG C is disclosed. The alkaline wash solution is formulated from a first concentrate, a second concentrate, an alkalinity source, and a balance of water. The first concentrate preferably has a first nonionic surfactant, a first builder, and acid in an amount effective to provide a phase stable solution. The second concentrate preferably has a second nonionic surfactant and a second builder. The first and second concentrate are present in the wash solution in a concentration ranging from about 0.3 wt.% to 2.0 wt.%. Preferably, the first nonionic surfactant has a cloud point ranging from about 5 DEG C to 60 DEG C.
Abstract:
A rodent bait station includes an enclosure having an inclined passageway leading from an opening in the enclosure to an elevated bait receptacle having a removable tray with a handle. The inclined passageway terminates at the lowest elevation of the opening to prevent water from becoming trapped in the enclosure. A separate internal receptacle is provided in the enclosure for storing and protecting printed materials, e.g., maintenance records. A replaceable latch on the enclosure includes an alignment member disposed between a pair of engagement members which engage cooperative slots and which are deformable to unengaged positions by a key that wedges between the engagement members and the alignment member.
Abstract:
An interactive dispenser (10), used to provide a powdered, liquid or personal use or care chemical, can provide a message prompted by the proximity of a user to a sensor. Proximity, as it relates to this invention, relates to the nearness of a user to a sensor, either mounted in a remote location or mounted on the dispenser that prompts the dispenser to provide a message for the user. The message can be provided in a visual message such as an electronic scroll, an aural message derived from an electronic voice synthesizer.
Abstract:
The invention is a lubricant concentrate composition, use solution, and method of use. The lubricant includes amine compounds of the formula R1 - O - R2 - NH2, R1 - O - R2 - NH - R3 - NH2, and mixtures thereof, wherein R1 may be a linear C6-C18 alkyl, R2 may be a linear or branched C1-C8 alkyl, and R3 may be a linear C1-C8 alkyl, and a corrosion inhibitor. The lubricant composition preferably includes a polycarboxylic acid as a corrosion inhibitor. The composition may also include a hydrotrope, stabilizer, and a surfactant to provide detergency to the composition upon dilution and use. The invention also includes a lubricant use solution resulting from dilution of this concentrate.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an apparatus and method for diluting a chemical concentrate. More particularly, dilution control is achieved by monitoring two flow meters (11, 14), comparing the flow rate information, and adjusting the diluent flow to achieve a predetermined dilution of the chemical concentrate. An air push (22) is preferably used to deliver the chemicals to the utilization points. Also a controller (100) is used to prioritize requests from the utilization points in a hierarchal fashion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a coating composition film or barrier layer containing an inorganic salt composition having a phosphate and a carbonate source and a surfactant composition. The aqueous coating can be applied to surfaces in food preparation units. The compositions of the invention can be used in methods for coating hard surfaces of food preparation units by applying the aqueous material through a spray or other aerosol apparatus to form a uniform coating. Upon drying, the water from the coating can evaporate leaving an organic/inorganic film which can support baked-on food soil and promote easy removal.
Abstract:
A rinse aid composition for use on plasticware is herein described which requires lower concentration of conventional hydrocarbon surfactants, exhibits adequate sheeting on the plasticware and acceptable drying time which prior rinse aids have failed to provide without special handling. The compositions described contain hydrocarbon surfactants and a polyether or polybetaine polysiloxane copolymer surfactant alone or in combination with a fluorinated hydrocarbon surfactant. The composition may be formulated as a solid or liquid suitable for dilution to form an aqueous rinse used to contact the plasticware in a warewashing machine.
Abstract:
The invention provides a process for preparing a highly alkaline, solid cleaning composition in a batch or continuous mixing system, at or below the melting temperature of the alkaline ingredients, and products produced by the process. Preferably, the ingredients are processed in an extruder, and the mixture is extruded directly into a mold or other packaging system for dispensing the cleaning composition. The consistency of the product ranges from that of a fused block solid to a malleable product. The highly alkaline cleaning compositions are useful for warewashing and cleaning hard surfaces, rinsing, sanitizing, deodorizing, laundry detergents, and the like.
