Abstract: The invention relates to a device for positioning vessels, comprising a vessel holder which has a series of receiving portions for a circular chain of vessels, arranged on a circular line, a central region arranged within this series of receiving portions and comprising further receiving portions for individual vessels containing reagents, as well as means for alignment, and also comprising a carrier for individual vessels which has a holder plate in the form of a circular disc or a section of a circular disc, with holes at specific positions for individual vessels, and at least one further means for aligning said carrier with respect to the means for aligning the holder in a specific position. In this position, the holes are aligned to specific further receiving portions, the remaining further receiving portions are covered by the holder plate, and individual vessels filled with reaction liquid can be inserted into the holes and the further receiving portions that are aligned thereto.
