    Abstract: The template is mounted in the place of the ophthalmic lens on the grinder to be calibrated. It has the general shape of a disc being circular on a part of its periphery (22). There are locally two sharp points (23), circumscribed by the same circumference (C), which are angularly separated from each other by 90 degrees . In the smallest (A'1) of the two subtended angles at the centre (A'1,A'2) delimited by the sharp points the disc contour is concave. The circumference which circumscribes the two sharp points on its periphery then extends into its circular part (22A). The two sharp points result from the intersection of the disc circular part with a notch (22B) cut into its periphery.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out the precise trimming of a lens ( 1 ), whereby the lens is held between two clamping plates ( 2, 3 ) in a given position and the grinding of the periphery of the lens ( 1 ) is controlled along a trajectory, the last programmed part of which corresponds to the form ( 8 ) desired for the lens. The method comprises a first scanning under weak clamping conditions of a number of points on one face of the lens with scanning of the coordinates of the points ( 8 ), forming the trace on said face of the mounting circle, a second scanning, with a significant level of clamping which corresponds to that used on trimming the lens of a second number of points on said face of the lens, an approximate mathematical representation of the face of the lens for each of the two clamping conditions, a calculation of the coordinates for the deformation of the contour of the lens on said face of the lens in the second clamping condition to correct the last programmed part of the grinding trajectory.

    Abstract: Method has the following steps: scanning of the profile using a planar light beam (F1-F8) arranged to cut the profile of the object being measured. The trace of the optical beams on the profile is determined using optical detectors means (31-33, 36) with an optical axis (35) forming an indicator angle that is constant and none zero with the light beams (F1-F8) at a series of positions around the profile.     Abstract: The standard gauge comprises two jaws which extend parallel to each other, one being mobile w.r.t. to the other in the direction perpendicular to their length. A pair of spectacles is supported within the gauge so that one jaw contacts the bottom of the spectacles and one contacts the top edge. A feeler is mounted on a carriage in order to move over a base plate in order to take measurements of the contour of the spectacles to be examined. The appts. also includes a plate (50) with two projecting ribs (58) which lie parallel to each other. This serves as a support for the feeler gauge used in determining the contour of the spectacles.
