Abstract: The apparatus comprises a suitable means (10) of supporting a template (11) in a fixed position and also a trolley (12) which is mobile relative to the template. The support (10) is formed from a turntable (15) and block (16). The mobile trolley (12) carries a sensor head (14) on a rod (13). The rod (13) is brought into contact with the edge of the template (20) and a transmitter/receiver (25) also mounted on the trolley (12) detects reflection from a mirror (26) through a template hole (22). This enables the coordinate of the hole to be stored and used for drilling copies of the template.

Abstract: This involves checking the fitting of a lens (10) to be ground, to a spectacles frame. According to the invention, this fit check is done on the grinding machine (11) itself, by mounting the lens (10) to be ground on its support spindle (15), bringing this lens (10) into contact with the grinding wheel (12) without this grinding wheel rotating at all, causing the support spindle (15) to rotate step by step until the lens (10) to be ground makes a complete revolution on itself and checking whether, during this revolution, the contact detector (17) associated with the template (jig) (16), is actuated by this lens. Application to grinding machines used for trimming the edges of a lens for spectacles.

Abstract: The invention concerns a device in which a blocking arm (13) is mounted on a carriage (15) in such a way that it pivots between a raised loading position and a pivoted fitting position. According to the invention, between the blocking arm (13) and the carriage (15) there are pawl-type engagement means (38, 40) capable of a releasable locking of this blocking arm (13) on this carriage (15) when it is in the pivoted fitting position. Application to the blocking of any grasping stud on a spectacle lens workpiece.

Abstract: A device for fitting a handling block to an eyeglass lens to which the handling block adheres temporarily includes a receptacle into which the handling block is push-fitted. An ejector system associated with the receptacle facilitates disengagement of the handling block from the receptacle after it is fitted to the lens. This system is operative outside the receptacle and engages operatively on the eyeglass lens concerned. It comprises two ejector fingers movable parallel to the axis of the receptacle against return springs.

Abstract: The invention relates to the positioning of a grasping and holding member 20 on an ophthalmic lens 14. According to the invention, the means for controlling the grinding/polishing arm 22 used for this purpose include two blocks 23A, 23B which, under the control of a single control member 24, are both mounted so as to be capable of moving translationally, parallel to one another, but in opposite directions with respect to one another, and on one of them, the block 23A, the said grinding/polishing arm 22 is rotationally mounted, whilst the other, the block 23B, is engaged with the latter via cam means 50, 51. Application, particularly, to centring appliances for ophthalmic lenses.
