Abstract: The lens has an aspherical surface with a geometrical center, a reference point for near vision, and a virtually umbilical and vertical meridian line with a mean spherical and cylindrical value at each point. The area formed by points at a distance of less than 20 mm from the geometrical center and with a cylindrical value of between 0.42 and 0.84 diopter is greater than the area formed by points at a distance of less than 20 mm from the geometrical center and with a cylindrical value of less than 0.42 diopter.
