    Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize high-efficiency transmission with an economical constitution, by inserting information, which indicates whether the data length is a fixed length or not, and information, which indicates the data length or the dummy data length only for the data length of a fixed length or less. CONSTITUTION:Transmission data is segmented by every prescribed length and is divided into data P1-Pn of one-packet share. Prescribed-length data P1-Pn-1 are provided with flag Q, which indicates whether data is a prescribed length or not, following to the synchronizing flag F, address information A, packet control information, and other information; and if data is a prescribed length, flag Q is set to ''1'', and data is inserted after the flag, and check bit CRC is added, and synchronizing flag F is added at last. Meanwhile, if data is shorter than the prescribed length like data Pn, flag Q is set to ''0'', and information N indicating the length of data is inserted after flag Q, and dummy data D is inserted after data Pn, thus constituting a fixed-length packet.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate easy detection for a short break of a power supply of an end office by always transmitting a signal showing that the power supply of a terminal is turned on to a central end office device. CONSTITUTION:An initial program load (IPL) request is given when the power supply of an end office 2 is turned on for transfer of signals between a central end office device 1 and the end office device 2. The device 1 gives an IPL to a desired station. Then the device 1 stores the end of the IPL of the device 2 when receiving an ACK signal from the device 2. Hereafter the above-mentioned operation is repeated between the device 1 and all end office devices. Then the communication is carried out among end offices. If the device 2 has a short break of the power supply during operation, the device 2 delivers an IPL (IPL') request. Thus the device 1 knows the short break of the device 2 since the IPL' request is the second IPL request.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the reduction and control of a memory and at the same time to eliminate a change of the contents of a memory region or the replacement of an ROM in case an RTE is increased or shifted, by transmitting again a loop-back instruction to fix the loop-back after detecting a step-out and then having the same control in the backward direction. CONSTITUTION:When a central end office device CTE10 detects a step-out at both sides of the using and spare systems, a remote end office device CTE1 and an RTE4 transmit a command via using and spare transmission lines 12 and 13' respectively to all RTE1-5 to fold the loop-back. Receiving this command, the RTE1 is set in a loop-back folding state and at the same time tranmits an instruction to the next RTE2. In a folding state, each of RTE1-5 delivers an answer signal to a CTE10. For this answer signal, a physical address of own station is written to an address region 6 as shown in the diagram. Otherwise the information showing the state of own station is written to a response region 7, and at the same time a flag is set up in a signal region 8 showing that a loop-back is being folded. Thus the transmission is carried out to the CTE10.

When the address is confirmed, the station CT turns on a test flag, clears the counting of nodes and the counting at the own station and adds the physical addresses of the devices RT1-RTn. The devices RT1-RTn extract the test time slot regardless of the physical address, increases the count value of nodes if the test flag is turned on, turns off the test flag for the devices RT1-RTn which are designated by the physical addresses and increases the count value of nodes and the count value at the own station to feed these values to the subsequent remote end office devices.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the processing to be remedied only with one sort of loop back command, by performing loop back to other loop lines after the catching of the other loop lines is detected owing to out of synchronism derived from a line failure. CONSTITUTION:If two lines have a failure at a point X, out of synchronism is caused at remote terminal devices 4 and 5 catching a loop line 6 of the #0 system, and resulting into a catching of a loop line 7 of the #1 system. In this state, remote terminal devices 3 and 4 are prepared to receive a loop back command. Thus, in the remote terminal device 3, the catching of the loop line 6 of the #0 system and the instruction of the loop back are informed to a line control section. Then, the line control section performs loop back from the loop line 6 of the #0 system to the loop line 7 of the #1 system. Similarly, in the remote terminal device 4, the loop back from the loop line 7 of the #1 system to the loop line 6 of the #0 system is performed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve reliability of an auxiliary transmission line, by transmitting a monitor signal to not only the current transmission line but also the auxiliary transmission line to monitor always faults. CONSTITUTION:Synchronizing parts 3 and 4 extract the synchronizing signal from the frame signal for monitor included in signals of current input transmission line 11 and auxiliary input transmission line 13 and apply it to control part 6. Control part 6 controls switching part 5 by this syncronizing signal so that frame signals for monitor of the current transmission line and the auxiliary transmission line can be input to control part 6 correctly. The current transmission line and the auxiliary transmission line are constituted in a loop, and frame signals for monitor transmitted from current output transmission line 12 and auxiliary output transmission line 14 of monitor station 10 respectively circulate once through transmission lines and come to transmission lines 11 and 13 respectively. Consequently, when a fault occurs in any of both transmission lines, control part 6 performs processings such as alarm immediately.
