    Abstract: An aqueous filler composition containing a polyester resin which is built up from the starting materials (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) or ester-forming derivatives thereof, where the sum of the reactants corresponds to 100 mol% and the ratio between the sum of the hydroxyl equivalents (eq of OH) and the sum of the carboxyl equivalents in the reactants is between 0.5 and 2.0, where (a) is at least one dicarboxylic acid which is not a sulpho or phosphorus monomer, (b) from 0 to 15 mol% of at least one difunctional sulpho or phosphono monomer whose functional groups are carboxyl or hydroxyl groups, containing at least one sulphonate or phosphonate group, (c) at least one difunctional compound which is derived from a glycol containing two -C(R)2-OH groups, (d) up to 40 mol% of a higher-functional compound (functionality > 2) whose functional groups comprise hydroxyl and/or carboxyl groups, and (e) from 0 to 20 mol% of a monofunctional carboxylic acid, where the radicals R in (c) may be, independently of one another, hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl or C6-C10-aryl, the amounts of free hydroxyl groups are between 30 and 350 milliequivalents of OH/100 g, preferably between 100 and 250 meq of OH/100 g, and the content of free neutralised and/or neutralisable acid groups, in particular sulphonic, phosphonic or carboxyl groups, is between 5 and 350 meq of acid groups/100 g, preferably between 9 and 120 meq of acid groups/100 g.

    Abstract: Hydrophilic polyurethane-polyureas (I) are obtd. by reacting (A) polyisocyanate(s) with (B) fatty acid deriv(s). which is/are reactive towards (a), (C) opt. a cpd. with more than 2 OH and/or COOH gps., (D) a polyalkylene glycol with a mol. wt. of 500-10,000 and (E) a cpd. with active H atom(s) which react more rapidly than water with NOC gps., with a mole ratio of (NCO gps.):(all NCO-reactive H atoms in A-E) = (0.5:1)-(2:1). Pref. mole ratio of (NCO gps.):(H atoms in OH and amino gps. in all components A-E) = (0.7:1)-(1.5:1); amts. of co-reactants are 0.1-1 mole (B), 0-0.8 mole (C), 0.1-0.8 mole (D) and 0.01-0.3 mole (E) to 1 mole (A). (B) comprise opt. unsatd. cpds., pref. fatty alcohols, fatty amines, or ethoxylated fatty alcohols or amines contg. 1-30 ethylene oxide (EO) units, esp. ethoxylated fatty alcohols with 1-20 EO units, or reaction prods. of fatty acids with polyols which may also contain amino gps., or reaction prods. of fatty acids and mono-epoxides.     Abstract: Water-dilutable (water-thinnable), two-component coating composition containing 1) a polyisocyanate component and 2) a polyester resin built up from the starting materials (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) or ester-forming derivatives thereof, where the ratio between the total of the hydroxyl equivalents and the total of the carboxyl equivalents in the reactants is between 1:0.5 and 1:2.0, where (a) is at least one dicarboxylic acid which is not a sulphomonomer, (b) is from 0 to 15 mol% of at least one difunctional sulpho or phosphonomonomer whose functional groups are carboxyl and/or hydroxyl groups, containing at least one sulphonate or phosphonate group, (c) is at least one glycol, (d) is from 0 to 40 mol% of a higher-functional compound (functionality > 2) whose functional groups comprise hydroxyl and/or carboxyl groups, and (e) is from 0 to 20 mol% of a monofunctional carboxylic acid, where the amounts of free hydroxyl groups are between 30 and 350 milliequivalents of OH/100 g, and the content of free neutralised and/or neutralisable acid groups is between 5 and 350 meq/100 g. These coating compounds are particularly suitable for the production of primers, fillers, topcoats and single-coat finishes.
