    Abstract: Los poliuretanos- poliureas dispersables en agua se obtienen mediante la reaccion de: a) un componente de poliisocianato, que consiste de por lo menos un poliisocianato orgánico, con b) por lo menos un poliéster poliol reactivo al isocianato que puede ser preparado a partir de: i) uno o más ácidos dicarboxílicos, ii) uno o más dioles, y iii) si se desea uno o más componentes polifuncionales, cuyos grupos funcionales se seleccionan de grupos hidroxilo y carboxilo, y iv) si se desea un ácido carboxílico monofuncional, c) si se desea, un derivado de ácido graso reactivo al isocianato, d) si se desea, un compuesto de funcionalidad relativamente alta (funcionalidad mayor que 2), cuyos grupos funcionales se seleccionan de grupos hidroxilo y carboxilo, y e) un componente de polialquilenglicol que tiene una masa molar de 750 a 10,000 g/moles y f) un compuesto que contieneátomos de hidrogeno activo y en donde el hidrogeno activo reacciona con los grupos NCO más rápidamente que con el agua, mientras se mantiene una relacion del numero de grupos de isocianato al numero de átomos de hidrogeno reactivo al isocianato, basado en todos los componentes de partida a) a f), de 0.6:1 a 1:1, en donde la proporcion en masa de las unidades estructurales derivadas del poliéster en el poliuretano-poliurea es de 10 a 60% y la proporcion en masa de unidades estructurales derivadas de polialquilenglicol es de 25 a 75%.

    Abstract: Acid-modified polyesters obtained by reacting (a) from 20 to 60 mol%, preferably 30-50 mol%, of at least one dicarboxylic acid, (b) from 3 to 30 mol%, preferably 5-20 mol%, of a dihydroxyalkanecarboxylic acid, (c) from 10 to 60 mol%, preferably 20-50 mol%, of a diol, (d) from 0 to 30 mol% of a polyalcohol containing more than two OH groups or of a polycarboxylic acid, (e) from 0 to 20 mol%, preferably up to 10 mol%, of a monocarboxylic acid, where the ratio between the sum of the hydroxyl equivalents and the sum of the carboxyl equivalents in the reactants is between 0.5 and 2.0, the amounts of free hydroxyl groups in the end product are between 30 and 350 mmol of hydroxyl groups in 100 g of solid resin, preferably between 100 and 250 mmol of hydroxyl groups in 100 g of solid resin, and the content of free neutralised and/or neutralisable acid groups is between 5 and 350 mmol of acid groups in 100 g of solid resin, preferably between 9 and 120 mmol of acid groups in 100 g of solid resin.

These unsaturated polyurethanes are used as reactive emulsifiers for the preparation of dispersions of hydrophobic synthetic resins which can be cured by means of free radicals and/or oxidatively.
