Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce press material by utilizing the topical compression cutter. SOLUTION: A plate of glass parent material where grooves are formed on one main face of the glass plate is arranged on the cutting auxiliary members so that the main face having the grooves formed may come to the inside, then topical pressure is applied to the sites opposing to the groove-formed sites from the outside of the outer main surface side, thus the glass parent material is cut into a plurality of press materials by the tensile stress occurring on both sides of the grooves. In this case, the grooves are formed only on one face of the parent material and the shape followingness of the cutting auxiliary members is properly selected so that the glass parent material may be cut with the tensile stress, as the peripheries of the grooves contact with the cutting auxiliary members, the topical compression is applied.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a laminate wherein remaining air bubbles have been completely deaerated and with good quality and performances by applying a high frequency electric voltage on an assembly under vacuum, elevating the temp. by heating and pressing it through a cover with flexibility. CONSTITUTION:In a storing part 16, a filter raw material 20 prepd. by laminating glasses 2 and 3 as laminating material, a polarized film 4, 1/4 phase difference film 5 and a film-like intermediate film 6 as an adhesive is stored and placed. When the storing part 16 is evacuated by means of a vacuum pump 28, a cover 21 is tightly adhered on the surface of the filter raw material 20. An upper electrode 12A is lowered by means of a pressing apparatus 14 and the filter raw material 20 is pressed above the cover 21 and at the same time, a high frequency electric voltage is applied for a predetermined time and the filter raw material 20 is heated. The intermediate film 6 is heated at high temp. and softened and the glasses 2 and 3, the polarized film 4 and the 1/4 phase difference film 5 are monolithically jointed together to prepare a filter 1. As drawing a vacuum is performed in the recessed storing part 16, air bubbles in the laminate can be removed when the intermediate film 6 is softened and the good filter 1 can be prepd.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a product small in the variation of the weight and reduced in the generation of grinding scrap with excellent reproductivity by press molding after reheating a glass lump formed from a molten glass to adjust the viscosity to a specific range. SOLUTION: The molten glass supplied from a nozzle is charged into a mold to be formed and slowly cooled to produce the glasss lump. The lass lump is reheated to be controlled to the viscosity of 104-106 poise and press molded with a mold. Because the main surface on the molten glass is formed by the surface tension, the variation of the weight is suppressed. The glass lump small in the variation of the weight is easily obtained by controlling the viscosity of the molten glass. Many glass lumps are produced and stocked to produce many glass products having various kinds of shapes. The temp. of the mold is preferably 600-750 deg.C. The surface roughness Rmax of the mold in the glass lump is controlled to 10-50 μm and the surface roughness Rmax of the mold for reheating press is preferably 1-10 μm.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to form a more adequate press blank by executing always adequate pressurization in a method for cutting a planar glass preform previously scribed with a plurality of grooves on one main surface. SOLUTION: When the planar glass preform 20 is pressurized and cut at a groove D1 portion by a presser 191, vibration is instantaneously generated. This vibration is transmitted via a presser base 190 to a vibration sensor 193. The Z-axis servomotor of a pressurizing device 19 stops and the pressurization by the pressor 191 stops when the vibration sensor 193 detects the vibration. Since the pressor 191 is thereby prevented from making more than needed stroking, the chipping of the glass in the cut portion may be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the press blank materials having uniform weight regardless of their shapes and without cutting losses by molding an original plate of the press black material having grooves for dividing a flat glass plate to small pieces on the front and rear surfaces of the flat glass plate. CONSTITUTION:A glass limp 30 of the weight corresponding to several pieces of the final pressing weight of the blank material is softened in a softening furnance. The glass lump is supplied onto a lower die 60 having a projecting part 62 on the molding surface 61 held within a master mold 50 and is subjected to 1st press forming by using an upper die 70 having a flat molding surface 71. Thus, the planar glass 80 having the grooves on the rear and has a plane on the front surface is obtd. The upper die 70 is then changed with the upper die 73 having the projecting part 72 on the molding surface and while the planar glass 80 is held on the lower die 60, the glass is subjected to 2nd press forming, by which the original plates of the press blank materials divided to N-pieces and having the prescribed weight are obtd. Since the thickness in the connecting parts between the respective small pieces is small, the original plate can easily be divided and the press blank materials having the uniform weight are obtd. The edges, etc., are rounded by barrel polishing at need, by which the final press blank materials are obtd.
