Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a polyurethane foam by carrying out a urethanization reaction in the presence of a formaldehyde addition condensation product (salt) of an aromatic compound, having dimensional stability under various conditions despite of conventional molding density, useful as a heat insulating material, etc. CONSTITUTION: In obtaining this polyurethane foam from a polyol and a polyisocyanate in the presence of a blowing agent, a catalyst and other auxiliaries, a urethanization reaction is carried out in the presence of a formaldehyde addition condensation product (salt) of an aromatic compound and/or its salt. A formaldehyde addition condensation product of one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a melaminesulfonic acid, a phenolsulfonic acid and a naphthalenesulfonic acid is used as the condensate and the number- average molecular weight of the condensate is preferably 2,000-50,000 and, for example, 1-5 pts.wt. of the condensate is used based on 100 pts.wt. of the polyol.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition which can give a polyurethane foam with good thermal conductivity, friability and mold filling property by incorporating three tert. amine compounds each containing a specified ring structure. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is obtained by mixing three tert. amine compounds each containing a ring structure in the molecule and represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each 1-3C alkyl or dimethylaminoalkyl or hydroxyalkyl with 1-3C alkyl), formula II (wherein R3 and R4 are each 1-3C alkyl or cyclohexyl) and formula III (wherein R5 is H or 1-C alkyl; R is 1-4C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl). The mixing ratio is such that 5-20wt.% compound of formula I, 5-20wt.% compound of formula II and 60-90wt.% compound of formula III are mixed with each other. Only when a catalyst containing all of these three compounds is used, a urethane foam with good thermal conductivity, friability and mold filling property can be produced.
