Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid detergent composition which has good solubility and good foaming ability and also has a hardness such that the solid detergent composition can be conveyed in a usual way even when it is formed into a product of a size such that it can be used at a time, by compounding a salt of a higher fatty acid, a salt of an inorganic acid or a salt of an organic acid other than a higher fatty acid, and water. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) 3 to 25wt.% salt of a 10-20C higher fatty acid wherein at least 30wt.% of the salt is a potassium salt, (B) 3 to 20wt% at least one salt selected from among NaCl, KCl, Na2 CO3 , Na2 SO4 , K2 CO3 , MgSO4 , sodium pyrophosphate, sodium citrate and the like, as a salt of an inorganic acid or a salt of an organic acid other than a higher fatty acid, (C) 30 to 80wt.% of water. Further, this composition optionally comprises (D) 1 to 20wt.% at least one surfactant selected from among sodium acylisethionate, a sodium alkyl sulfate, a sodium alkyl ether sulfate, an alkyl betaine, an alkyl sultaine and an alkylamine oxide.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light bar soap which does not contract with the lapse of time, is stable in color and smell and excellent in solubility and is hardly deformed by a static load or impact by admixing a salt of a higher fatty acid having a specific number of carbons, a salt of an inorganic acid or of an organic acid other than a higher fatty acid and water in a specific ratio and giving a composition an open cell structure. SOLUTION: The objective composition comprises 40-99 wt.% of a salt of a 10-20C higher fatty acid, 1-20 wt.% of a salt of an inorganic acid or of an organic acid other than a higher fatty acid and up to 10 wt.% of water. The bar soap is obtained by solidifying a melt soap composition comprising the 10-20C higher fatty acid, the salt of the inorganic acid or of the organic acid other than higher fatty acids and water, and freeze-drying it. The content of water in the melt soap composition is preferably 20-70 wt.%. Freezing operation is carried out under a normal or reduced pressure at -80 to 0 deg.C for preferably 5-24 hours and subsequent drying operation is carried out by under a normal or reduced pressure at a temperature from the freezing temperature to 60 deg.C for preferably 3 hours to 2 weeks.
