    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating agent for fiber products capable of imparting excellent wrinkle suppressing effect and fold line-retaining effect which are kept not only in wearing but after washing to the fiber products capable of being heated and hardly affected by water. SOLUTION: This treating agent for fiber products for imparting a shape stability to the fiber products by heat treatment such as iron and the like comprises a specific amount of (i) two or more species of compounds capable of forming a mutually cross-linked body by heating and/or (ii) a compound capable of being self cross-linked by heating and water. Non-volatile components are included in 0.01-30%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a finishing agent produced by adding a specific alkylene oxide adduct to a softener, effective in imparting various fibers with excellent softness and suitable for the use in an automatic softener-charging system of a washer owing to its high redispersibility. CONSTITUTION:A soft-finishing agent for clothes capable of imparting various fibers with excellent softness and antistaticity is produced by compounding, as essential components, (A) one or more kinds of quaternary ammonium salts with (B) an adduct produced by adding 5-100mol (on an average) of ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide to 1mol of an oil and fat (e.g. hardened tallow and coconut oil) or 1mol (in total) of an oil and fat and a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. glycerol and sorbitol). Since the softener has excellent redispersibility, it is suitable for the use in an automatic softener-charging system of a washer and gives cleaned clothes free from stains caused by the solidified softener.

SOLUTION: The objective fiber-product treatment composition is obtained by combining 0.1-20 wt.% of a water-soluble polymeric compound selected from the group consisting of poly(vinyl acetate) (derivatives) with a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000-500,000, styrenesulfonic acid salt (co)polymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000-6,000,000, and N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (co)polymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000-6,000,000, 0.1-20 wt.% of a softening agent selected from quaternary ammonium salts, tertiary amine inorganic or organic acid salts, and silicone compounds and 0.1-5 wt.% of a nonionic surfactant that is represented by the formula: R-(OC2H4)n-OH (R is a 10-20C alkyl or alkenyl; n is 5-30) and has an HLB value of 12-18.
