    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an artificial intelligence (AI) moving robot and a method for controlling the AI moving robot. The robot may have a main body, a driving unit configured to move the main body, and an image capturing unit that captures an image around the main body and generates image information for a travel area of the main body. The robot may also have a controller. The controller may control traveling of the main body. The controller determines a status of the travel area based on the image information while the main body is traveling in the travel area. When a mode is set to a monitoring mode, the controller controls at least one of the driving unit and the image capturing unit to monitor a predesignated structure among structures in the travel area.

    Abstract: A moving robot is provided. The moving robot includes a body, first and second driving wheels configured to move the body, first and second caster wheels installed movably, first and second sensors configured to respectively detect a rotation angle of the first caster wheel and a rotation angle of the second caster wheel with respect to a predetermined direction axis, and a controller configured to control driving of a driving wheel according to the rotation angles. The controller calculates an average rotation angle by using the rotation angles detected by the first and second sensors and controls driving of the driving wheel by using the calculated average rotation angle.
