Abstract: For digital mobile radio transmission, a new method of measuring and correcting the distortion in a transmission channel is provided. Known pilot symbols are inserted in the data stream. At a receiver, distortion of the known values of the pilot symbols represents the channel distortion. Lagrange interpolation of the received values of the known pilot symbols is used to estimate the channel distortion within the pilot symbols.
