    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce a power control ability by deciding a vocoding rate before receiving the sequence of a downward frame or an interleaving frame. SOLUTION: In a base station 14, one frame is organized, which includes an information bit in the vocoding rate as a channel bit in one channel rate, in order to transmit a downward signal on a traffic channel and at least one rate indicating bit which expresses the vocoding rate is arranged in the head part of the frame. In a mobile station 16, downward transmission power is calculated by taking the vocoding rate expressed by at least one rate indicating bit in consideration and the vocoding rate is decided by decoding the head part of the frame so that power control is executed in a period being shorter than one frame from the repetition of the first frame.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a burst control method of a CDMA system. SOLUTION: An MS(mobile station) detects relative signal strength received from a BTS(base transceiver station) in an active set (the set of the BTS which can be connected with the MS). A limited active set (sub-set) constituted of the BTS which can service the MS in the active set is prepared. Then, the geometry of each sub-set is decided, and power adjustment (the difference of power for bits) is calculated for each sub-set by using the geometry. Then, an available data rate is decided for each sub-set by using the power adjustment and available power of the BTS in the sub-set. The minimum value of the data rates of all the BTS in the sub-set is selected as the available data rate of the subset. The maximum value of the available data rates of all the sub-sets is selected as the data rate of the MS.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve data throughput to a communication link set between a data node and a mobile user by interrupting the data packets sent from a data source, buffering the data packets before they are sent to a desired data link and receiving these packets. SOLUTION: An IWFTCP proxy receives a packet from a data server 50 before it transfers the packet to an MS 10 as a new TCP origination and also buffers temporarily the received packet. A TCP function particularly confirms whether the packet that is received from the server 50 and addressed to a specific user (e.g. the MS 10) is correctly received. If the packet is correctly received, the IWFTCP proxy instantaneously sends the ACK back to the server 50 for the received packet. Thereby these packets arrive at each desired destination from the viewpoint of the server 50 and the ACK is quickly returned. Thus, a data rate can be scaled up.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce the RF condition (state) of a cellular network from previously collected job site test data by generating variable RF loss along plural forward direction and backward direction attenuating lines, based on a variable control value extracted from job site test data. SOLUTION: A job site data processor 150 receives job site test data which are collected previously by a mobile diagnosing device in a certain cellular network area. The processor 150 processes received job site test data and extracts an important pilot signal. The extracted pilot signal is assigned to the forward channel of a forward/backward channel attenuator 120, and a variable attenuator control value is calculated for each channel of the attenuator 120. Thus, the attenuator 120 reproduces RF loss caused between various network cell sectors and the mobile diagnosing device in the cellular network.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the collision amount of access messages on a random access channel(RACH) in an opposite direction by a plurality of mobile stations which are about to obtain simultaneous accesses in the wireless communications system. SOLUTION: A probe message, shorter than an access message in place of the access message, is transmitted through a RACH. The period of use for the RACH by the transmission of the probe message is shorter than that by the transmission of the access message, and the chances for collision with other probe messages can be reduced. Then the access message is sent through a traffic channel or a control channel designated by a base station receiving the probe signal. Alternative method offer data burst being transmitted trough a designated traffic channel or control channel.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an external output control loop method for setting a target SIR using a measured FER to work sufficiently in a high-speed fading state. SOLUTION: A method for accelerating the output control using a channel state estimation scheme is provided, wherein the estimation of channel state is equivalent to measuring or estimating channel parameters including the speed of a moving station, Doppler diffusion, K factor, the number of multiplexed channels, and the intensity of each of multiplexed channel, but not limited to these parameters. One or more relation between the channel state and a target signal-to-interference ratio or between other control thresholds are determined. Using the determined relations, the target signal-to-interference ratio or other control thresholds are set. This method has the advantage of estimating or measuring the channel state at much shorter time intervals than service quality parameters such as a frame error rate and bit error rate, accelerating the output control and increasing the system capacity.
