    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide fins for a fin tube type heat exchanger for an air- conditioning machine and the like, which are prominent in anticorrosion without generating any stagnation of coating when they are dipped into functional coating to apply it as well as any cracking when they are dried, cured and the like. CONSTITUTION:A fin is constituted of a hole 11 for penetrating a heat transfer tube, slanted slits 12, formed below the heat transfer tube penetrating hole 11, and a groove 13 from the lower end of the slits 12 to the end of the fin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To restrict an increase of resistance in aeration during a condensation and a frosting and reduce a reduction of a cooling power and a heating power of a heat pump by a method wherein two kinds of lengths of fins at an air upstream side are applied and alternatively piled up, the longer fins are processed with water repellent finishing and then the short fins are processed with a hydrophilic surface processing. CONSTITUTION:Long fins 1 processed with a water repellent processing at an upstream side and short fins 2 processed with a hydrophilic processing are alternatively arranged to each other, so that water droplets accumulated at the long fins are grown up to become large droplets and contacted with hydrophilic fins 2, the water droplets are pulled, under a relative action of the surfaces of the short fins, toward the air upstream side processed with hydrophilic and then the water droplets flow down the surfaces of hydrophilic characteristic. Accordingly, the water droplets do not make any bridge between the fins and an increasing of the aeration resistance is restricted. Even though condensation water 6 on the long fins 1 at the air upstream side processed with a water repellent processing is frozen to make a frost formation, the condensed water on the water repellent surface is kept at its droplet form and it takes much time until a freezing any occur and the frost may occur. Thus, it is possible to restrict an increasing of a resistance of aeration caused by the condensation or frosting and further to restrict a reduction of capability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve excellent water repellent properties and to improve performances by effecting plasma polymerization on the surface of aluminum fin material coated with fluoride resin using fluorine monomer gas having a specific fluorine/carbon atom ratio. CONSTITUTION:Plasma polymerization of carbon tetrafluoride formed over the film of ethylene tetrafluoride resin coated over an aluminum alloy plate is effected to form a coating. Critical surface tension of the coating is greatly reduced and even liquid droplets with a diameter of 1mm fall along the surface of a vertical test piece, whereby it can be confirmed that the water repellent property has been greatly improved. In this manner, by applying plasma gas of fluorine monomer having a fluorine/carbon atom ratio exceeding 2 to the surface of an ordinary fluoride resin coating, the density of fluorine atoms in the outermost surface can be greatly increased, resulting in improved water repellent properties.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase water repellency remarkably by a method wherein coating is constituted of solution, consisting of silicone or fluorine resin compound, and inorganic powder, whose surface is processed by hydrophobic treatment.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit the formation of a coating composition capable of imparting a higher water-repellency by a method wherein a water-repellent coating composition has, solution consisting of silicon resin or fluororesin compounds and a porous surface and the solution is admixed with inorganic or organic particles having a specific size in diameter. CONSTITUTION:A water-repellent coating composition has a solution consisting of silicon resin or fluororesin compounds and a porous surface and this solution is admixed with inorganic or organic particles having a size of not more than 4mum in diameter. When fine particles are added to the water-repellent resin, in addition to the surface repellency created by the water-repellent resins, the fine surface irregularities of the fine particles make the contact ares of liquid droplets smaller, lower substantially the adhesive force between the liquid droplets and the surface of a fin and enhance the water-repellency. When the inorganic or organic particles having a size of not more than 4mum in diameter are added, this morphological effect is exerted to the maximum possible extent. As the particulate additive, polymethyl methacrylate is used. The formation of such coating composition as a layer on the surface of plate- like fin of an heat exchanger makes the attachment of the water droplets thereto difficult, leading to the improvement of the ability of the heat exchanger.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can impart higher water repellancy by mixing inorganic or organic finely divided particles which have a specific surface area (m /g) or more with a solution comprising a silicone or fluororesin compound. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is produced by blending inorganic or organic finely divided particles which have a specific surface of 25 m /g or more (e.g. an inorganic silica or polymethyl methacrylate) with a solution comprising a silicone or fluororesin compound. On the surface of the base material coated with the above composition, because of the fine irregularities formed by the inorganic or organic finely divided particles, in addition to the water repellent effect of the silicone or fluororesin, the contact area of the surface with water drops becomes small and the water repellancy become remarkably high. Also, by applying the composition to the surface of fins of a heat exchanger, the fine water drops can roll down.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can impart higher water repellancy by blending a specific amount of inorganic finely divided particles having hydrophobic surfaces and which have a specific average particle diameter and a specific surface area with a solution containing a silicone or fluororesin compound. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is produced by blending inorganic finely divided particles which have a specific surface area of 50 m /g or more, an average particle diameter of 4 mum or less and hydrophobic surfaces with a solution comprising a silicone or fluororesin compound so that the ratio of the particles to the solid component in the solution may be 10-40 wt.%. On the surface of the base material coated with the above composition, because of the fine irregularities formed by the inorganic finely divided particles, in addition to the water-repellent effect of the silicone or fluororesin, the contact area of the surface with waterdrops becomes small and the water repellancy becomes remarkably high. Also, by applying the composition to the surface of platelike fins of a heat exchanger, the condensed waterdrops roll down, so that the fin area can be increased by decreaseing the distance between the platelike fins, and therefore the thermal efficiency is improved.
