Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the amount of foods stored in a freezing chamber and to prevent overcooling of a low temperature chamber by a method wherein a refrigerator body is laterally divided into two compartments, the upper part of one of the compartments forms a first freezing chamber, the upper part of the other forms a second freezing chamber adjacent to the first freezing chamber and the central part thereof forms a low temperature chamber adjacent to the first freezing chamber. CONSTITUTION:A first freezing chamber 21 is arranged in the upper part of one of the two compartments into which a refrigerator body is laterally divided by a vertical partition 20, a first freezing chamber 22 is arranged at the central part thereof, and a second refrigerating chamber 25 in the lower part thereof. A second freezing chamber 27 is arranged at the upper part of the other laterally adjacent to the first freezing chamber 21, and a low temperature chamber 28 is located at the lower part thereof laterally adjacent to the first freezing chamber 22. Further, a third refrigerating chamber 31 is arranged under the lower temperature chamber 28 laterally adjacent to the first and second refrigerating chambers 22 and 25. Further, since the first and second freezing chambers 21 and 27 are located in juxtaposition at the upper part of a refrigerator body 19, an amount of foods contained in the whole of the freezing chambers is increased. The thermal effect of other chambers on the low temperature chamber 28, effective in preserving fresh fish and meat, is reduced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save an installation space of a compressor, simplify electric wiring and enhance the reliability of an electronic control board by employing an efficient structure of a machine chamber panel storing and defining a compressor, an electronic control board, electric parts and the like of a refrigerator. SOLUTION: A recess 82 is formed by partially recessing a lower rear part of a refrigerator main body. Further, an electric part storage section 75, an enclosure 77 and the like disposed behind a cooling device are all formed of a resin so as to save installation space of a compressor 69, and distances between an electronic control board 76 and controlled units such as a compressor 69 and the like housed in the electric part storage section 75 are shortened so that electric wiring is simplified. Because the electric control board 76 and the compressor 69 are partitioned by the enclosure 77, the temperature of the electric control board 76 is restrained from being raised.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep a water purifying capability by accommodating activated carbon in a cylindrical container having slit-shaped holes formed through an outer cover and an inner cover thereof. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of slit-shaped holes 47 are formed in an inner cover 45 and an outer cover 46 of a cylindrical container 44, and fibrous activated carbon 48 is accommodated in the container 44 and is introduced into a protrusion 38 of a preliminary chamber 31 of a water storage container 28. Water in a water storage tank 20 is driven to pass through the interior of the fibrous activated carbon 48 and is thereafter driven to flow into the preliminary chamber 31 of the water storage container 28. In other words, water effused from an introduction inlet of the water storage tank 20 passes within a predetermined time through the fibrous activated carbon 48 after passage through the slit- shaped holes 47 due to its self-weight and flows into the preliminary chamber 31 of the water supply container 28, and further, water effused from the inlet of the water storage tank 20 is all cleaned through the fibrous activated carbon 48, and flows into the preliminary chamber 31 of the water supply container 28. Thus, a water purifying capability is kept satisfactory.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively detect the temperature in a room by mounting the thermally sensitive cylinder of a thermostat to the long hole of a control panel while it is being adhered. SOLUTION: A long hole 17 with a smaller width dimension than the outer shape of a thermally sensitive cylinder 13 of a thermostat and a round hole 18 being inclined in the upper left and right directions of the long hole 17 are provided at a control panel 7. Also, a cylindrical protrusion 21 being inclined in a lower direction where a tip has the same outer diameter as the outer side of the round hole 18 of the control panel 7 is formed in one piece with a support plate A22 on left and right plane parts 20 of a semi-circular recessed part 19 that is matched to the outer diameter of the thermally sensitive cylinder 13. Then, the thermally sensitive cylinder 13 of the thermostat is inserted into the semi-circular recessed part 19 and the cylindrical protrusion 21 of the support plate A22 is engaged into the round hole 18 of the control panel 7 for mounting, thus securing a constant temperature in a room by changing the position of the thermally sensitive cylinder when storing into food in a room.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an angle adjustment to be easily and positively perfomed by a dial thermo switch in a temperature adjusting device for a refrigerator in which it is responded to a required intra-refrigerant temperature setting without being directly contacted with a thermo-shaft even if the dial shaft is removed. SOLUTION: Some wedge-like protrusions 28 of dial thermo 26 formed in opposition to a plurality of angle adjustment holes 25 formed at a dial supporting member 21 are fitted into it through a through-pass hole 14 in a control panel 7, thereby a temperature adjustment of a refrigerator can be attained. Accordingly, even if the dial thermo 26 is removed, there is no possibility that a person may touch directly the thermo-shaft 18, and so an adequate temperature adjustment can be carried out.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent water from dropping at the front of a refrigerator by a method wherein an inclined surface of a handle part installed at the front of a water storing container is formed with a concave groove. CONSTITUTION:An inclined surface 34 of a handle part 33 of a water storing container 27 is integrally formed with a groove 38. Then, when a water storing tank is lifted up and drawn toward an operator, water within the water storing tank drops onto the inclined surface 34 and then the water is accumulated at the groove 38. Water accumulated in the groove 38 is naturally evaporated by cold air discharged from a duct of a refrigerator chamber. In addition, some projections 39 are integrally formed at the right and left sides of the groove 38. In turn, a water absorbing material 40 is a sponge-like materials absorbing water or the like. This material is inserted into the groove 38 and fixed by the projections 39. Water in the water storing tank drops onto the inclined surface 34 of the handle part 33 and can be absorbed by the sponge- like water absorbing material 40 inserted into the groove 38. Further, the water dropped into the handle part 33 can be accumulated at the recess at the bottom surface of the refrigeration chamber through the through-pass holes having a circumferential flange at the handle part 33 and then the water is automatically evaporated by the cold air.
