Abstract: PURPOSE:To remarkably improve general purpose properties, by a method wherein control of a capacity of two compressors is effected according to a pressure on the low pressure side during cooling and a pressure on the high pressure side during heating and in response to a total of the air conditioning loads of an indoor machine, and the opening of an indoor motor expansion valve is controlled according to the air-conditioning load of the indoor machine. CONSTITUTION:A capacity of a capacity varying compressor 31 and that of a pole varying type compressor 33 are controlled according to a pressure detected by a pressure detector 41. During cooling, a pressure on the low pressure side is detected, and control is effected so that a pressure is decreased to a given set low value. During heating, a pressure on the high pressure side is detected, and control is made so that a pressure is increased to a given high value. A difference between a detecting pressure and a set pressure is calculated by a pressure difference means 55. An inverter 32 and a number of poles switching device 34 are controlled by a capacity varying width deciding and control means 56 which changes a predetermined combination step for control combination of two types of capacity of two compressors 31 and 33.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To perform capacity control corresponding to variation of load incident to fluctuation of outer air temperature or modification of set indoor temperature by varying the operational frequency and the opening of a motor expansion valve within a range satisfying two conditions, i.e., superheating of refrigerant on the suction side of a variable capacity compressor is higher than a set level and the refrigerant temperature on the delivery side is lower than a maximum allowable level. CONSTITUTION: When a load is varied by fluctuation of outer air temperature or modification of set indoor temperature and the difference of indoor temperature from a set level increases, a main control circuit 40 provides the motor driver 41 for a variable capacity compressor 21 and the valve driver 42 for a motor expansion valve 24 with signals required for bringing the indoor temperature to a set level by varying the operational frequency of the compressor and the opening of the valve within a range satisfying two conditions, i.e., superheating on the suction side of the compressor is higher than a set level and the delivery refrigerant temperature TD is lower than a maximum allowable level. Liquid refrigerant does not return back to the suction side and lubricant can be protected against deterioration by suppressing refrigerant temperature rise on the delivery side.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent refrigerating machine oil from flowing out to a refrigerating cycle by setting a flow control valve provided in oil return piping coupling an oil separator and the suction tube of a compressor in the opening direction at the time of starting operation thereby keeping a constant oil level in the compressor. CONSTITUTION: At the time of starting operation, an operation start detecting means 10b detects starting operation of a compressor 1 through a variable frequency power supply 9. Means 10c for determining the opening of a flow control valve then determines a larger opening than that at normal operation and means 19d for controlling flow control valve controls the opening of a flow control valve for a longer time as compared with normal operation. Since the quantity of refrigerating machine oil flowing out from an oil separator 2 to the compressor 1 increases, a constant oil level can be kept in the compressor and the reliability thereof can be enhanced. Furthermore, flow-out of refrigerating machine oil to the refrigerating cycle causing decrease of cooling/heating capacity can be suppressed.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To solve the coolant shortage in a coolant circuit in operation to avoid the lowering in capacity, and maintain a normal operation by determining the valve travel according to the load of an operating indoor unit, and changing the valve travel of the indoor unit at a stop of the heating operation to a higher level than that once determined for every specified time. CONSTITUTION: A motorized expansion valve 8b of an indoor unit 7'b which has been detected as 'stop' by a detecting means 15 whether a unit is in operation or not 15 of each indoor unit is determined as 'full-close' by a valve-travel determining means 20 to be controlled to 'full close' by a valve-travel controller 21b, and a motorized expansion valve 8a of an indoor unit 7'a which has been detected as 'in-operation' is controlled to have a predetermined valve-travel by the valve-travel determining means 20 based on load and frequency to be controlled by a valve-travel controller 21a. At this time, for the motorized expansion valve 8b of the stopped indoor unit 7'b, stop time is integrated by a cold/worm-detecting means 16, the detecting means 15, and a timer 23, the valve-travel thereof is corrected to a greater valve-travel, by a valve-travel correcting means 24 for every predetermined time to be controlled by a valve- travel control means 22b.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To control an increase in draft resistance due to frosting of a heat exchanger and maintain space heating capacity for a long time by a method wherein on a fin between heat transfer tubes a plurality of cut and raised parts opened to an air flow direction are installed and the leading edge of the cut and raised part and a part of a fin base plate adjoining the cut and raised part are equipped with attack angles to the air flow direction. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of cut and raised parts 13 opened to an air flow direction 14 at the part between heat transfer tubes 11 on a fin 10 are installed and at the part 13 a leading edge part 13a equipped with an attack angle to the air flow direction and a part 13b in parallel to the base plate of the fin 10 are placed. A fin base plate 10a adjoining the part 13 is equipped with the attack angle to the air flow direction 14. When a heat exchanger functions as a condenser, in addition to the so-called leading edge effect in a boundary layer, the air flow streaming between the fins 10 is mixed as indicated in the arrow 16 to improve a heat transfer coefficient. When the exchanger functions as a vaporizer and is frosted, it is not clogged completely by frost at an early stage even if it is frosted and the passage for the air flow is secured.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent irregularities from being produced in the amount of a coolant flowing along a plurality of coolant paths and improve the heat transfer performance of a heat transfer tube by arranging wide slits at the central part and narrow slits at both ends in a coolant flowpath provided with a plurality of slits in parallel. CONSTITUTION:In a heat transfer tube used for a fluid flowing in two, vapor-liquid, phases in a tube used in an air conditioner, a refrigerator or the like, wide slits 4 are provided at the central part and narrow slits 5 are provided at both ends, and an outer wall member 9 is laminated integrally on both surfaces of a flat flow path member 6 used as a coolant flowpath, said outer wall member 9 being provided with projected parts 7 and 8 forming an inlet side header and an outlet side header communicating a plurality of said slits 4 and 5 having different widths with each other. In a heat transfer tube 10 thus constituted, the coolant flowpath at parts where the liquid level is high and the liquid coolant easily flows is narrow in width, therefore the flow resistance is increased to prevent the excessive flow of the liquid coolant flowpath. Since the coolant flowpath at parts where the liquid level is low and the liquid coolant is difficult to flow, is wide in width, the flow resistance is small so that the liquid coolant can easily flow, and hence the heat transfer performance of the heat transfer tube is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the evaporation heat transfer and the heat transfer performance of the heat transfer pipe by superimposing a flat flowpath member provided with a plurality of wide slits forming a part of coolant flowpaths at portions corresponding to a plurality of wide slits, on both surfaces of a flat flowpath member provided with wide slits forming a part of coolant flowpaths, and further integrally laminating outer wall member on both surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of slits 13 forming a part of coolant flowpaths are provided in paralleled in a flowpath member 12. On both surfaces of the flowpath member 12, a flowpath member 14, provided with a plurality of narrow slits 15 forming a part of coolant flowpath at portions corresponding to wide slits 13, is superimposed. A liquid coolant 19 is held to circulates at respective corner portions (minute clearances) of the coolant flowpaths formed by slits 13 and 15 of the flowpath members 12 and 14, respectively by the effect of the surface tension of the liquid coolant 19. Accordingly, the liquid coolant 19 is led to a relatively central portion of the flowpath, and hence the wet area with respect to the heat transfer surface increases and the evaporation heat transfer is improved and the heat transfer performance is remarkably improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase boundary layer leading edge effect and obtain a heat exchanger prominent in heat exchanging capacity by providing a slit piece, slanted with respect to the direction of airflow, on the surface of a fin. CONSTITUTION:A slit piece 5, whose leading edge 5a and leg 5b are slanted with respect to the direction of airflow B, is provided on the surface of a fin 4. According to this method, high boundary layer leading edge effect and turbulent flow promoting effect may be increased, the heat transfer rate of the airflow B and the fin 4 may be improved without increasing a ventilating resistance, therefore, heat exchanging capacity may be improved even in the heat exchanger, long in the direction of the airflow B, without deteriorating the heat transfer rate even in the downstream side thereof.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the fin efficiency of a heat exchanger by a method wherein the bent section of a corrugated fin, contacting with a flat tube, is provided with a recessed section. CONSTITUTION:A fin 4 is provided between mutual flat tubes 1 so as to have a predetermined space in a corrugated and is brazed to the flat tube 1 at the bent section of the fin to fix the same. The bent section 4' is formed of protruded sections 4's and a recessed section 4'b and the protruded sections 4'a are contacted with the flat tube 1 while brazing agent 3 is adhered to clearances between the flat tube 1 and the bent section 4'. The bent section 4' is contacted with the flat tube 1 in the condition of recessed and protruded, therefore, a contacting area is increased and the adhering amount of the brazing agent 3 is increased whereby the entering and outgoing of heat between the flat tube 1 and the fin 4 may not be bothered and the fin efficiency of the heat exchanger may be increased while heat resistance may be reduced.
