Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent efficiently by a simple structure the displacement of a mounting member in the rotational direction of a camshaft without lowering the assemblage of the mounting member comprising a camshaft side member or a cam pulley side member. SOLUTION: In this valve timing changing device equipped with a rotor 28 fixed on a camshaft 1 driving the intake valve or exhaust valve of an engine and a housing 15 fixed on a cam pulley inputting driving force to the camshaft 1, and changing the opening/closing timing of the intake valve or exhaust valve of the engine by changing the rotational phase between the housing 15 and the rotor 28, a positioning part comprising a positioning pin 36 and a positioning hole 37 which regulate the displacement of the rotor 28 in a rotational direction while allowing the movement of the rotor 28 in the diametral direction of the camshaft 1, is arranged in a fixing part for the rotor 28 and the camshaft 1.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint device of a rotation transmission device which is excellent in the durability and the operation responsiveness, capable of saving the power, and capable of securing high reliability even when being applied to a valve timing variable device of an engine for automobile. SOLUTION: A joint device which connect a driving side member 24 and a driven side member 2 of a rotation transmission member divided into the driving side member 24 and the driven side member 2 are coupled to each other in an integratedly rotatable manner with the magnetic force, is provided with a holding means which holds the relative position in the rotational direction of the driving side member 24 to the driven side member 2 by the attraction force by the magnetic field of a permanent magnet 6 in an integratedly rotatable manner, and a releasing means 13 which is arranged close to the holding means and generates the magnetic field in the direction to weaken the magnetic field of the permanent magnet 6. The phase between the driving side member 24 and the driven side member 2 is kept by the attraction force by the magnetic field of the permanent magnet 6, and in changing the phase, the magnetic field of the permanent magnet 6 is weakened by the magnetic field of the releasing means 13 to reduce the phase keeping force.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure appropriate intake filling quantity by providing at least two intake valves per one air cylinder, and approximately fixedly closing at least one intake valve, and also controlling the other intake valve so as to gradually increase its lift quantity according to the increment of a load, in an engine low rotation area. CONSTITUTION:In such a device that the valve lift quantity and valve opening period of a pair of intake valves 14, 15 are changed by axially moving a camshaft 3 rotatively mounted on a cylinder head 1 by the operation of an oil pressure cylinder 9, the opposed intake valves 14, 15 are lifted through tappets 17, 17 by means of swinging cams 25, 25 to be swingably driven by driving cams 22, 23 provide on the camshaft 3. Each of driving cams 22, 23 is formed in such a manner that the intake valve 14 is approximately fixdely closed, while the intake valve 15 is made to continuously gradually increase at least one of the lift quantity or the valve opening period according to the increment of an engine load, in an engine low rotation area, hereby, appropriate intake filling quantity is always ensured.

The sliding contact surface having a circular arc cross section is formed in the cam follower 4 of the oscillation cam 4, and a valve operation equal velocity section 11 in which the valve 5 is moved in equal velocity is formed in the cam 44.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a means capable of supplying working oil to a valve timing control device of a hydraulic drive type at proper hydraulic pressure and in a proper supply amount regardless of engine speed. CONSTITUTION:On a camshaft 3, a cam 13 for pump driving with a tapered cam face extending forward is provided. To move the camshaft 3 in the longitudinal direction, a valve timing control device 7 driven by working oil supplied from an oil pump 15 is provided. Hereby, at the time of high rotation, the camshaft 3 is arranged at a front position by the valve timing control device 7, and at this time, the oil pump 15 is driven at a rear part of the cam for pump driving, that is, at a part where cam diameter is small, and accordingly, excessive rise of a discharge amount and discharge pressure is prevented. Conversely, at the time of low rotation, the camshaft 3 is arranged at a rear position, the oil pump 15 is driven at a front part of the cam 13 for pump driving, and a sufficient discharge amount and discharge pressure are secured.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obviate the necessity of a driving means such as a large output power cylinder or motor for axially moving a cam shaft in an engine in which a cam shaft incorporating a tapered cam is axially moved so as to change the valve timing. CONSTITUTION:First and second drive gears 41, 42 are rotatably fitted on first and second cam shafts 10, 12 which are rotated in reverse directions, respectively, and first and second clutches 47, 48 are adapted to engage these cam gears with the respective cam shafts. A slide member 50 adapted to be axially moved together with the cam shafts 10, 12 in one unit body, is fitted thereon with a driven gear 53 meshed with the first and second driving gear. If one of the first and second electromagnetic clutches engages the associated one of the first and second driving gears with the associated one of the cam shaft, both cam shafts are axially moved in a specific direction by the rotation of the associated one of the cam shafts through the intermediary of the slide member.

For invasion of oil mist generated by the aperture area which is set large, oil is positively removed by generating the turbulent blow by gas flow from the subsidiary blow-by gas intake passage, thereby an excellent oil separator function can be secured.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a valve timing control device for an engine, which has a less power consumption and a less abrasion. CONSTITUTION:In a valve timing control device incorporated in an engine, a cam shaft 2 is shifted forward by turning on an electromagnetic outer clutch 28 while the cam shaft 2 is shifted rearward by turning on an electromagnetic brake releasing clutch 27, and accordingly, the shift of the cam shaft 2 changes the valve timing of an intake valve V. In this arrangement, at any time other than a transient time when the valve timing is changed, the clutches 27, 28 are held in a turn-off condition, and accordingly, the power consumption is reduced. Further, at any time other than the transient time, the clutches 27, 28 are not turned on, and accordingly, the power consumption can be reduced. Further, any time other than the transient time, the clutches 27, 28 do not make contact with a disc 13, and accordingly, the abrasion of the disc can be reduced.

Further, a driving shaft 60 for increasing or decreasing the rotation of the auxiliary shaft 40 transmits the rotation to the coupling sleeve 50, and accordingly, the relative rotation between the coupling shaft 50, and the cam shaft 10 and the auxiliary shaft 40 causes the cam shaft 10 to axially move.

CONSTITUTION:A diriving cam 2 and an oscillating cam 4 are provided, which oscillating cam 4 is in sliding contact with the driving cam 2 and a valve 5, oscillated by the rotation of the driving cam 2, for lifting the valve 5. An angle made by a rotary center A of the driving cam 2, a curvature center B of the oscillating cam 4, and an oscillating center C of the oscillating cam is set almost 90 degrees, at the maximum valve lift timing. A maximum moment arm L2 is obtained around the oscillation center of the oscillation cam 4 in respect to driving force from the driving cam 2 at the maximum lift timing when the maximum spring force is applied to the oscillation cam 4 from the valve side, and pressure is reduced at a sliding contact face E between the oscillating cam 4 and the driving cam 2.
