Abstract:
Abstract:
An example device for generating quality measurement reports includes one or more hardware-based processors implemented using digital circuitry, the processors being configured to execute a middleware unit and a target application for media data. The middleware unit is configured to receive media data via broadcast or multicast from a server device, generate reception reports covering the reception of the media data according to received reporting directives, deliver at least part of the media data to a target application of the client device, receive quality of experience (QoE) reports from the target application, and provide contents of the QoE reports to a reception reporting server.
Abstract:
Data objects are delivered over a packet switched network and receivers receive encoded symbols such as repair symbols broadcast or multicast with sufficient information to form requests for additional symbols as needed based on what source symbols or sub symbols are needed or missing. The requests can be made in a unicast or request fashion. Requesting and broadcasting might be done by different entities. A broadcast server can generate and store repair symbols while a source server can store content in source form. A request can be a unicast HTTP byte range request such as a URL starting position and length. Requests might be aligned with starting positions of files. A receiver can calculate starting and ending byte positions of symbols or sub symbols in a file and get indications that conventional HTTP servers are usable for file repair. Repair servers can request broadcast of repair data when byte range requests from multiple receivers overlap.
Abstract:
Embodiment systems, methods, and devices enable data streams of a broadcast service to be carried in multiple communication sessions in any transport protocol providing file transport information and the transmission of objects, an example of which is File Delivery Over Unidirectional Transport ("FLUTE"). A session description may include a category attribute indicating the type of data carried in such a protocol session. A schedule fragment may include references to a session description for each such protocol session associated with a service. A common listing of configuration parameters may be generated for all such protocol sessions associated with a service. A different listing of configuration parameters may be generated for each such protocol session associated with a service. A flag setting in a diary file may indicate one or more such protocol session associated with a service over which in-band update fragments may be broadcast.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices of various embodiments enable signaling one or more capabilities of servers, such as web servers or content delivery network (CDN) servers, to use file version information, such as MD5s (message digest 5 (MD5) algorithm hash values) and/or entity tags (ETags), to computing devices for byte-range file repair.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided for receiving one or more representations of content wirelessly. The method may involve receiving a media presentation description (MPD) that includes parameters for reception of data segments for multiple representations of content via broadcast transmission and unicast transmission (2312). The method may involve determining whether the broadcast transmission or the unicast transmission is appropriate for reception of the data segments (2314), and selecting a given representation from among the multiple representations of the content based on a criteria of the mobile entity (2316). The method may involve receiving the data segments for the given representation based at least in part on the parameters for the determined one of the broadcast transmission and the unicast transmission (2318).
Abstract:
Diversity enhancement for multiple carrier systems is disclosed which includes generation of a multiplexed multicarrier radio frequency (RF) signal having N carriers organized to be accessed at a rate of one carrier access per multicast channel (MCH) scheduling period (MSP) per carrier of the N carriers, thereby requiring N accesses per MSP duration across the N carriers. The method may also include the base station transmitting the RF signal to a user equipment (UE). In other aspects, the diversity enhancements include the UE receiving a multiplexed multicarrier RF signal having N carriers. The UE may access the N carriers by performing one carrier access per MSP per carrier of the N carriers, thereby performing N accesses per MSP duration across the N carriers.
