Abstract: A transmitting UE in a device-to-device (D2D) communication may identify a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence for a D2D transmission based at least in part on a subset of bits of a sidelink control information (SCI) transmission. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be selected such that the bits have sufficient variability to reduce the likelihood that multiple UEs may use the same DMRS sequence. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be all or a portion of a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for the SCI.

Abstract: Features of the present disclosure implementing techniques that allow the user equipment (UE) to autonomously (e.g., without the network control) manage timing synchronization of a plurality of carriers using sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS) from one or more other UEs in order to identify a synchronization source. A synchronization source associated with a frequency carrier from a set of frequency carriers may be selected according to one or more SLSS sync source selection techniques or rules. For instance, the described solution may be utilized to enable UEs to autonomously perform V2X carrier aggregation (CA). In some examples, the synchronization carrier(s) to be searched may be determined based on the SLSS capability of the UE (e.g., transmission and reception of SLSS capabilities of the UE).

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for efficiently suppressing transmission of signals from devices which are using a first protocol in order to allow the frequency spectrum being used by devices using the first protocol to be used briefly for communication between devices using an alternative communications protocol. In some embodiments the first protocol is WiFi and the alternative signaling protocol is a non WiFi peer to peer communications protocol. A wireless communications device e.g. a peer to peer wireless communications device generates a signal suppression utility metric (SSUM). The signal suppression utility metric provides an indication of how useful transmitting a transmission suppression signal e.g. a S CTS signal which may be a CTS to self signal will be at a given point in time. The wireless communications device decides whether or not to transmit a transmission suppression signal as a function of the signal suppression utility metric.

Abstract: Low latency enhancements for communication systems, including autonomous driving and/or selection scenarios, are provided. A method for communication includes monitoring communication resources in a communication system, determining a set of candidate resources to use for subsequent transmission of information within a time window such that the time window is minimized based on a desired communication latency parameter that considers at least one or more of communication channel congestion and a priority of transmission, determining a set of lowest energy resources from the set of candidate resources, selecting a low energy resource from the set of lowest energy resources, and transmitting data on the selected low energy resource. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
