Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a plurality of beams, from a base station, wherein the plurality of beams are associated with a corresponding plurality of monitoring occasions for a first subscription of the UE. The UE may determine whether a monitoring occasion for a second subscription of the UE collides with one or more of the plurality of monitoring occasions, for the first subscription of the UE, corresponding with the plurality of beams. The UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication of a selected beam, from the plurality of beams, based at least in part on the measuring and the determining. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network, an indication of a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) capability of the UE, wherein the UE includes a first SIM and a second SIM; determine that the UE has communications for the first SIM and is in a connected state with the second SIM; and transmit, to the network, a request for a connection release in relation to the second SIM based at least in part on the determination that the UE has the communications for the first SIM and is in the connected state with the second SIM. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for implementing dynamic receive mode management to improve data throughput and paging performance on a multi-subscriber identification module (SIM) wireless communication device may include detecting, on a protocol stack associated with a first SIM, an active communication in a first network, detecting, on a protocol stack associated with a second SIM, an idle mode paging cycle in a second network, prompting entry into a selected dual receive mode on the shared RF resource, and monitoring at least one performance metric for the idle mode paging cycle associated with the second SIM while in the dual receive mode. Based on the monitored performance metric while in the dual receive mode, the wireless communication device may determine whether paging performance is degraded for the second SIM, and if so, trigger entry into a fallback mode on the shared RF resource.
Abstract:
The present disclosure presents a method and an apparatus for inter-radio access technology (IRAT) background public land mobile network (BPLMN) re-acquisition mechanism at a user equipment (UE). For example, the method may include performing a BPLMN acquisition mechanism at a UE, checking whether a BPLMN re-acquisition mechanism is valid, determinining whether the re-acquisition mechanism requirements are met, and performing the re-acquisition mechanism at the UE. As such, an IRAT BPLMN re-acquisition mechanism at a UE is performed.
Abstract:
The present methods and apparatus relate to interference mitigation at a user equipment during wireless communication, comprising receiving a first activity schedule associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second activity schedule associated with a second RAT, wherein the first activity schedule and the second activity schedule includes one or both of transmission activity and reception activity; and performing one or both of a first interference mitigation procedure and a second interference mitigation procedure to adjust the reception activity on one of the first RAT or the second RAT.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for communication comprise determining that a first portion of a first radio access technology (RAT) activity scheduled during a first time slot overlaps in duration with a portion of a second RAT activity scheduled during a second time slot. The methods and apparatus further comprise excluding the first portion of the first RAT activity based at least in part on determining that the first portion of the first RAT activity overlaps in duration with the portion of the second RAT activity. Additionally, the methods and apparatus comprise performing a second portion of the first RAT activity during the first time slot. In some aspects, the second portion of the first RAT activity is a portion of the first RAT activity that remains after the excluding of the overlap in duration of the first portion of the first RAT activity.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication includes transmitting an abbreviated scheduling request indicating a general size of a first grant when a UE has buffered data. A detailed schedule request is transmitted and indicates a specific size of a second grant after receiving the first grant. The second grant is adjusted based on the detailed scheduling request.
Abstract:
An early BSIC (base station identity code) abort procedure includes comparing a first signal strength of a serving cell with a first threshold and comparing a second signal strength of a target cell to a second threshold. The first threshold is a sum of a network indicated threshold and a user equipment (UE) threshold. The second threshold is a difference between the network indicated threshold and the UE threshold. When the first signal strength is below the first threshold and the second signal strength is above the second threshold, the base station identity code (BSIC) procedure is initiated. A number of BSIC failure attempts is adaptively set before terminating the BSIC procedure.
Abstract:
A UE is configured to collect (402) multiple absolute radio frequency channel numbers, ARFCNs, in parallel via a wideband receiver during a transmission gap. Inter-radio access technology, IRAT, measurements are performed (404) based on the collected AFRCN samples.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method of wireless communication, comprising: determining the quality of a serving cell relative to a fast handover performance threshold; transmitting a measurement report to a network entity when the fast handover performance threshold is breached; requesting a handover to a different cell when the fast handover performance threshold is breached; and receiving a handover trigger by a network entity based on the measurement report and the request for handover.
